This is one of the better clouds shots I have seen recently, the foreground seems almost a bit too dark, but overall a great shot with good framing and perspective.

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 9/24/2006
Thanks Chad, it's dark because the light was behind the building I was in and going down. I liked the way it was hitting the clouds...glad you like this one...I like it too..:) Linda

Jimmy  Piper   {K:5742} 9/24/2006
wow, what a capture. those clouds dominate the sky and the picture. looks like a giant bomb just went off!

i can see the storm going on below too.. FG is fine, gives this a good dramatic effect.

well spoted...

cheers.

Alicia Popp   {K:83614} 9/24/2006
Bellísimas nubes, la luz, los contrastes de colores y de texturas, los reflejos en el agua... una maravilla!
Felicitaciones!

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 9/24/2006
Thanks for your comment James, that's what I thought too when I saw the clouds and the light, like a bomb, I do like the contrast between fg and bg, maybe it's a bit dark for some though..thanks again..:) Linda

Gregory McLemore   {K:25301} 9/24/2006
A very humbling presence captured and composed magnificently.:) :)

Tim  Schumm   {K:27167} 9/24/2006
I think that the dark foreground worked out well. If it was lighter the horizon would have been visually distracting it being in the middle and the drama would have been diluted. The way it is you have maintained the simple power of the moment

josep alsina   {K:19880} 9/24/2006
Preciosas nubes.
Josep

Mark Hamilton   {K:8384} 9/24/2006
Stunning colour and saturation like viewing a velvia slide on a lightbox.

Mark ;-)

Hi Linda! Such dramatic cloudscape ... so very beautiful! I feel tempted to crop off about the half of the foreground and ~ 2 cm of the left side, though. That´s just my personal preference, of course. I love clouds, too, and in any case this is a very impressive shot! *hugs*

Pablo Dylan   {K:54323} 9/24/2006
Great composition..very suggestive.

Pablo

Reda Danaf   {K:11909} 9/24/2006
What a dramatic sky well taken.

Robert Kocs   {K:89061} 9/24/2006
Wonderful skysacpe with gorgeous lighting cloud. The
effect is very impressive, details and colours are
great. Nicely done dear Linda!

Best wishes my friend!
Robert

HALF off the bottom, are you out of your mind? LOL!! I couldn't resist that. But, if I take half off of the bottom I lose the shoreline and the depth I wanted. Then again maybe it could work. The left side bothered me too a bit, because of the clouds being more centered, but when I cropped away some, I felt like it was too cramped, and thought it needed the space, for the mood and effect, but I agree some could come off of the left side. Ok dear just for you...what do you think? Hugs...:) Linda

jacques brisebois   {K:57346} 9/24/2006

Dave Stacey   {K:117108} 9/24/2006
Excellent capture of this building cumulus cloud, Linda! They always look great when the tops get into the sunlight as the sun is going down, and you caught this one perfectly.
Dave.

Rashed Abdulla   {K:154552} 9/24/2006

Hi Linda! I am glad to be back after a month and to look again at your beautiful pictures. You give my a problem: too many splendid photos in the last month so I can't comment they all, but I will observe and admire all the pictures new for me.
You are in a splendid photographic condition!
Cheers.

Giuseppe

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47543} 9/24/2006
So beautiful and dramatic sky, the cloud shape as of starting a CB build up, which is a kind of storm is coming, the dark atmosphere with the strong light of the cloud made this capture a fantastic one.
Well executed work.
Regards
Saeed

Rob Ernsting   {K:8946} 9/24/2006
I do particularly like the compsoition with 2/3 sky. That mushroom cloud is formidable in size versus the environment. the shades from white to dark grey are very nice and a splendid view against the fading blue of the sky and sea. Excellent. BH, Rob.

Gorilla  K   {K:17526} 9/24/2006
what great cloud and this nice mood...simply nicely!!!
super, linda!

Petal Wijnen   {K:47835} 9/24/2006
Fantastic cloudscape Linda!! I do like your 'cropped to please Elisa' version, it's a great compromise for too much off and you'd lose the wonderful reflection in the water, but no crop... too much foreground and a too centered composition... IMHO that is... aahh it's hard to please everyone... LOL!! Oh yes the colors aren't too shabby either... ;-DD!! C yeh PW the DB... LOL!!!!

Gust@vo Sch3v3rin   {K:121677} 9/25/2006
Impactante horizonte de nubes, mi querida amiga!
Un abrazo!

I do love the drama in this one my sweet Linda and your choice of exposure is spot on for me. I love too the details you have captured in those clouds and the reflection on the dark waters. Well done sweetie......All the best plus another big hug.....Ray;)

Rocky Berlier   {K:2003} 9/25/2006
Well, this is a subject near and dear to my heart. I love cloudscapes and this one is absolutely gorgeous. It seems a little dark on my monitor but the colors and saturation are beautiful. The reflection on the water is always a winner too. Is this another one shot from your veranda? You are really living in Paradise there. Beautiful image sweetie. HUGGY HUG HUGS! ~R

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 9/25/2006
Yes, taken from the veranda. Did you check out the cropped version in the comments? What do you think of that versus this one. Thanks Rocky, always appreciate your words. Huggier hugs to you...LOL.:) Linda

Magic image Linda, I love how you have lifted the cloud out with light, also the dusty colour at the base of the CB is beautiful and extremely hard to capture...I keep looking at it waiting for the lightening ....
