This picture definately needed a border, but I'm not sure yellow was the right choice. Your thoughts?

Thanks for the comment, Paul.

I agree the border is distracting, I thought it might bring out the gold/yellow on the wings, but it doesn't really do that. Black would have been a safe bet, but it seems I only ever use black when I choose a border and I wanted to try something different this time.

I've seen your two recent butterfly shots, and they are quite good. You did a good job of getting clear images.

Jason.

Thanks Jason! Yeah I know just what you mean on the bordor....After doing some many black and whites lol You really do want to try something different! Been caught in that web before myself! Hey, sometimes it works right?
The one of my butterflys is such a case in point where as I used the zoom in Ps thinking it would be something different.....And while it was that and artisticlly it did not hurt the image but from a normal end it did take away from the butterfly and main subject.
The photo its self here is very good but in this case I would stay with the same ol same ol sort of speak! Its good we try different things however cause if we did not.....We'd surely miss out on a lot!!

Take care Janson and thanks for writing!

Cheers!

Paul

I like this border a little better. Much less intrusive, but still not 'basic black.'

Your Ps zoom may not have been a good fit for that particular photo, but it is a cool effect you may be able to use to enhance another picture later on.

Jason.
