Iīm glad you like it. Itīs so special going swimming there at night when most people have returned to their homes, and the sun is still shining.
Take care, dear Michele

Oh, the water is nice, but for you it probably would be very cold being used to the Pascific Ocean and hot weather.
Iīve been told that becoming a diver in Scandinavia makes you able to dive almost anywhere in the world because of the low visibility and the cold of the sea.
Take care,
Annemette

Wow... how late or long does the sun stay up these nights? Our sun is setting by 7 pm now .... yucko !

This is gorgeous. So peaceful and so atmospheric. The blue light and the sand i love.

bella toma, buen color en el ambiente, una playa muy tranquila y sin muchas personas, excelente

This uniformly colored picture is indeed very atmospheric in its hues of blue. Regarding the coloring I would have chosen a bit narrower aperture for making the blues darker. (But coloring is a personal preference.)

But the main advantage of a narrower aperture would be the win of DoF, though the unsharpness of the photo does add to the atmosphere. (I can't really decide if additional sharpness would have add more.)

It just looks to me as if there were two possibilities hier:

1) Get all the depth you can, from almost down your feet to infinity as sharp as you can. More DoF means narrower aperture and so you have lower exposition values that make the hues darker.

2) Exclude the very near field from the composition and choose a wider apperture. The soft focus with the blue hues of your photo can be very dreamy when there is no real plane of sharpness at the near field. I attach a cropped image for this possibility. Just an idea.

There are many ways... to sing the blues! ;-)

Best wishes,

Nick

Oops! That attachment I forgot! I was too aware to discover ships, dolphins and mermaids on this one ;-)

Compositional idea

I canīt really tell you. I just know that when we swim at 21:00 the sunbeams are still there:-)
I havenīt noticed exactly when the sun is setting now, but in the wintertime it will be dark at four oīclock in the afternoon. My husband seldom gets to see the daylight in the wintertime because itīs dark when he goes to work and dark wheh he returns:-(

Dear Nick
I like your attachment. I think youīre right about this kind of cropping.
When it comes to the colours and light in my photo I must say that I havenīt changed a bit because this is exactly how it looked like that night. I adore these wonderful nights by the sea. We donīt have so many as in the South, but we appreciate them and long for them deep in our hearts. They are the ones that bring us through the cold seasons.
Best wishes,
Annemette

I see, Annemette. Then just leave it be as it appears naturally.

A question though. What is that redish light on the sand at the center of the photo? Is that the sunset light? It looks nice but I can't figure out what it might be.

Stay well,

Nick

Those are sunbeams:-)
Stay well too:-)

hmmm I think 21:00 is = to 9pm ...? I have been noticing each day sun-set is earlier here now... it was 7pm now tonight it is 6:48pm!

We also get darkness at 4pm in Dec. and it lasts thru Feb....:(

Thank you for this information... You know how I get curious !
Ha!

Best wishes,
Michele~
