Well, here is my opinion, it may be a 2 cents' one, but this is what I think when looking at this shot: the idea of light/shadow is good, but...the lighter side is almost overexposed, while the dark side is too dark. Moreover the foreground right side would be better not to be there. One more thing, the whole is leaning to the right. Sorry, no offense intended! You might reconsider this shot.

Hi Gabriela!
Thank you very much for your comment and ideas about the photo. You are right, it is leaning to the right, so it should be rotated. The foreground right side is indeed not very attractive there, but cutting it out would take much of the image away. I have to find some other place to shoot the photo again without having those trees at the right.
The luminance difference from almost total dark to total light is something that I wanted to preserve here, since total darkness only enhances the diffuse but still very strong light on the mountains under snow at the depth, making the temperature of that day perceptible. I don't think that a totally balanced exposition would be better here, but it's only my own gusto.

Hi Gabriela!
It is exactly this discussion, the exchange of views and ideas, that turns any kind of arts to a really evolutionary creative process. Perceptions, intentions, interpretations, opinions, influences, freely and enthusiastically intermixed, are the best possible ingredients for cooking the new taste, without which arts would became but simply imitation of what already is, bare of any creative thought.
Of course I will try that again. And more than once! I hope that I will be able to try that again and again, always having a new insight from all of you out there.

aaaa wonderful my friend!! The town lying there looking both protected but also threathened by the huge mountains and the wilderness. I love such a landcsape and such a contrast between manmade civilization and nature. Well done.

The small town is Stanstad upon Lake Lucerne. Wonderful in summer and winter, but especially in winter it looks like sitting at the feet of the giant, seaching for protection from the cold. Ascending the slopes of Mt. Pilatus slowly and without using lifts and other "fast transportation means", taking time to look around, can be tiresome but it is always exciting.
It is always nice when the manmade is still embedded in nature.
