Fine detail and good lighting , regard .

Ohh... Renaissance richness...
I am impressed by the richness of details I can see in this image. The pose is really perfect and exactly how it was on vogue in those times. her face also fits that atmosphere! Great!
Being picky, though, there are two things that bother me and that are far from that age: the flash reflection in her eyes and her lipstick.
You may try to reduce the reflections to give a really perfect renaissance look to this gorgeous composition...

Very good points Paolo. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. BTW, the model wears no lipstick, very dark natural lips.

Nice portrait , good lighting and fine detail .

Lovely work...it could use a bit more light in the eyes.

Exellent Portrait.

Thanks for the advice Verna. You're right of course. I have an 11 foot ceiling and was making use of every inch of it which in this case was too high. Need to lower that 60" umbrella a bit I suppose. It would give me better catchlights in the eyes as Paolo suggests too.

excellent

Wonderful light and posing!! I really like her non-chalant expression and the placement of her hand. A very nice relaxed pose with attitude! Well done.

Bob........I have been thinking about this photo...I think the model needed more attention with her makeup....if she had more of a white base and more color in the lips and on the eyes. Her hair and skin tones are of the same or close in shades so we loose her face details next to the hair, too bad this was a one time shoot. Is she wearing a wig or is this her own hair..?

Robert Whiteman   {K:2261} 4/20/2003
Verna, she was on her way out the door to a Renn Faire and I had a few minutes to get a few photos of the dress so not much (none) attention was given (by me) to makeup. Next time.

BTW, she never wears much if any makeup so I'm sure it was minimal at best and I had thought during the editing of some of the shots that she probably should have some for a more "period" look.

She's wearing a wig since her hair is too short to look authentic in one of these outfits.

I appreciate your thoughts on this as I can use all suggestions for improving on what to look for. I will also have more opportunities to shoot this model (my wife) since she has a number of "costumes" and has a new one in the works that's supposed to be "over the top", for her at least. I'll keep yours and everyone elses good suggestions for further efforts and will post once I have some new ones. I really need to get a good background too.

So this isn't a onetime shot.....very good.....Lucky for you :-)
This would be a very fun shoot for me....
