About Natural window light.

I think I opened up the aperature just a tad too much, so the entire face is not as sharp as I'd have liked. I'm still pleased with this considering I have been having a heck of a time with this particular lense.

I think this worked out well; the little bit of focus loss is hardly noticeable. Well done.
Sounds like the lens autofocus is giving you problem? have same lens and sometimes in lower light levels have to switch to manual. Am now using the cheapo Canon 50 mm F1.8 for most low light stuff that does not need special treatment (focal length). For $79 have been real happy with same.

Yes, I had the autofocus on because the light was not GREAT, but I hate to use the flash... the kids were being wild and not wanting to stay still... but I do need to work more on fully manual.

Funny you should mention it because I JUST ordered that lens per a friend's suggestion! It should be arriving anytime!

Thanks!

Let me know how you like it. One of the usefilm memebers suggested it to me after I asked about since he had a number of excellent photos posted with the lens. My last posted picture was taken with the 50mm. I was looking at the more expensive f1.4 until I saw his examples and received his comments.

.....yeah, yeah, yep.....this is a lovely portrait Melanie, the 'pickyness' in me says the childs shirt, lhs, is a bit overexposed but I can live easily with the rest of the work, well done. good. cheers, david.
