Great shot Joel! I saw them flying by at work today. What location where you shooting from? My only day off is Sunday so I might try to make it down to Crissy Field or the surrounding areas to try and get some photos. I love the mist that surrounds the wings when they hit the throttle, great stuff.

Howdy Toshi,
thank you very much! I work at ILM at the Presideo..so we've got a pretty good view, as luck would have it. (so glad we moved out of San Rafael!) Tomorrow, I was going to head to the Marina Green for lunch tomorrow. I think Sunday is going to be messy crowded, so trying to get my fill of images before Sunday. The view was pretty great at work today, because they *right* over!! It was INSANE! Try and get over to the presideo tomorrow!
Many years ago, I went to the end of one of the piers by the Grotto (pier 45?) ...great view also.
The Air races are going to pretty wild!

Hi Joel,
Presidio is a perfect place to watch them - lucky you :) I work near City Hall and they were flying pretty close over there as well. I wish I could make it down there before Sunday (as you said, it's definately going to be packed), but unfortunately I have work. I really want to check out the Air Races; the last time I went was probably 5 years ago and they didn't have the races back then. I usually just used to watch from the roof of my apartment back then.
Hope to see some more of your shots!

Ahh.. SF roof tops, and fleet week! Wish I still lived in the city!
Hope you get some good shots on Sunday! There's lots of parking near the Letterman complex where I work, and it's only a 5min walk to the Green..drop down thru the Arguello gate ;)
