About This is a shot taken in Chania, Crete. A cozy beautiful place full of atmosphere. Although you donīt come from Crete, Nick, I imagine that this kind of architecture will bring back memories from your childhood in Kavala.

Lovely image of architecture, color, and textures... I also love the sort of peeking thru effect of spying .... (one of my no doubt bad hobbies) But in an image it is very pleasing ... !
Oh my goodness, Hi Annemette ! I am backwards this morning time for a break... trying to keep up with comments is hard when all of a sudden your time is more limited ..

Best Wishes,
Michele~

Nice use of natural framing and good work on difficult exposure settings . . . good color too. This one's very good Annemette . . .!

Aha, so if I see a woman running around in my garden at night peeking through my windows, Iīll say to my husband: Donīt worry- itīs just Michele:-)))
I also love places like this that seem a bit secret like cellars and dungeons and the likes!
Take care,
Annemette

I thank you so much for this Annemette!

Memories you say? There is a bulding in the old city of Kavala, called Imaret, which is now a hotel. I was playing hide and seek there. Look: http://www.expedia.de/pub/agent.dll?qscr=dspv&htid=1271436&crti=4&mdpcid=1.10.&eapid=1.10.
Any similarities? ;-)

I can't give any objective critique for this photo, since I am connected so strongly to that atmosphere. But I can say that I get my six string again, feeling just as if I were in the train to the south.

Take care and thanks again,

Nick

P.S.: I just have to organize some UF summer vacation in that city. And you all guys *will* play hide and seek (and shoot) with me ;-)

Ha! Ya never know Annemette !!!
We do seem to share this mystery of what's behind the door, the bush, the gate !
Michele~ kidding around of course....

I see what you mean! What a fascinating building full of atmosphere and looking a lot like this featuring the same architectural style. I hit the head on the nail with this, I think:-)
Yes, we must organize a UFmeeting down there. Great having a personal guide to show us all the places of interest.
Take care,
Annemette

Yes, you did hit that nail on its head, Annemette!

Such a UF meeting, full of photo sessions, would be indeed great! Hmmm, so let me start thinking and planing it, and contacting the nice people here.

So, let's hope!

Best wishes,

Nick
