its where a tweeter (nozzle) requires replacing, the paint is to highlight them.. thanks for comments wayne

I think that this could have been really amazing, Greg, but here there is really too much that prevents it from being amazing. The perspective to the inside of the furnace is too weak to "absorb" the spectator - perhaps a wider angle could help. Also, the colors are visible but still too weak and the contours of the interesting shapes almost too soft.

I think that here you needed definitely a tripod, a wider angle lens, a narrow aperture and a long exposure.

thanks for ya kool comments Nick. i have to work with the camera i have.. its a little bit limited.. also this pic was just a pic i snapped whilst working.. most people would never see inside a furnace..
