Hi Sandra. Nice to see your new venture in wildlife. Birds! They say the main difficulty with bird photography is to get close to them. You've managed to get real close. My only wildlife is insects and fungi. Valery

Nicely done Sandra. You mention in the about that you don't think the image could be cropped due to the desire to retain both reeds and water. You also say you value the feedback. So . . . then . . . here's MY feedback. Wow. Who needs to crop when you compose this well IN camera? You've got spot-on focus, rich, yet realistic color and a great position for the bird to be in to help the composition along. You must have gotten quite close for this shot. In case you didn't know . . . you don't need teeth to bite . . . I know . . . a goose took a chomp out of my backside when I turned away from him after having fed them (there were others). (There MUST be a pun in there about the bill and it being due!) LoL! Anyway . . . great shot!

Oh Doyle what a lovely comment - thankyou...seriously though, I can cop a good critique though..I'm here to learn....I just noticed quite a few wildlife shots on here and some of the severe crops have really worked well...as for this one...between her and I was a wire fence...and she was sitting on her nest...she hissed but not to the point of hyperventilation...and then saw I was just wanting to take her photo so she calmed down...she wasn't going to move from her precious nest, and I don't blame her...LOL indeed...you ARE funny...must be all those kids you have that keep the jokes rolling ;)

i think she's beautiful great detail of all those little feathers on her neck, and the sharpness of the wool and leaves that have made her a warm little nest! but i also think her long neck is cocked, and if you were to go much closer, she would pounce grabing your nose, flapping very loudly which would have made a great humour shot for someone else!!:)
