About This is similar to a post of not long ago, I know. However, I was playing with stitching pictures together and liked how these two fit. I hope you don't mind looking at the same one again.

It's still excellent MAry !!! Love it all the time ....the pink sun-set and reflections are so peaceful , and you've done such a fine job ...( this is 2 stitched together I understand ??) I love it but am curious about the stitching...

Happy Week-end,
Michele~

Mary Brown   {K:67759} 10/13/2006
Michele, sorry, I am not sure what you mean about being curious about the stitching. Are you asking how I did it or something else? Ask and I will tell.
MAry

Mary Brown   {K:67759} 10/14/2006
Hi Michele. I tried a program that came with my son's camera, but was not thrilled with the way it worked as it seemed to curve the pictures. So, I did it myself. Most likely, I am not doing it correctly, but the results seem okay, so until I leearn something else, this is what I will do for now. One thing I learned after I tried a few times with no luck is to use a tripod and take the pictures with the horizon at the same level with some of the land overlapping. For these couple of pictures, I matched them up as well as I could. Actually, they fit together well--this would be about 1 and 1/2 pictures after I overlapped them to match. There was an obvious join line, though. Maybe those who do it properly and read this will shutter, but I used the cloning tool at about 40-50% to get rid of the line. As the pictures were the same colouring, this did the trick. Hope this helps.
MAry

Dear MAry ,

Thank You so much for your time and tricks and trials of this stitching...I really do appreciate them more than you may know !! Especially about lining up the horizon with a tripod and over-lapping some land..I would've thought that would work great..and tried that one for sure...
I also appreciate your info on the obvious join line, and how you worked it together...

With much appreciation MAry ...I will be referring to your tips and hope I get anything close to what you have managed !!
Your're very helpful and kind.
Best wishes,
Michele~

An excellent job of stitching. If you had not said I would have assumed you used a wide angle lens. I have tried stitching a few times. It gives a real sense of satisfaction when it goes together well dont you think? I have also found the Photomerge in Photoshop elements is a neat way to form a collage. If you simply try to merge a group of unrelated photos it will tell you it cant and allow you to try by moving them youself. You can then move them to form a collage.
I like the red reflection in this shot also. Del.

Hiya sweetie, missed this one before. I love the effects of this in the full panoramic format with it's almost surreal colour tones it makes a huge impact. I remember the original and I think this is a fully justified re-working. Well done to you my dear friend MAry. My very best wishes to you as always........Ray;)

Lovely stichwork here - the colors and composition are well done. I like the bird in the scene to give a little bit of flavor.

A great escape for our heart.....a great moment for crying...thanks

Jason Hopson   {K:3250} 10/24/2006
The two images are simialar, Mary, but there are some noticeable differences too. I like this one quite a bit better, although the first is good as well.

There is a lot less pink in this sky, but still plenty of colour. That, combined with the shape of these clouds and the wider angle of view really emphasize 'big sky.'

I also think the gull standing on the rock adds another point of interest, and is an important part of what makes this such a good image to view.

Congrats on a truly lovely image, and a good stitching job, too.

Jason.

Mary Brown   {K:67759} 10/24/2006
Hi Jason. Thanks so much for your comment and vision of my two images. I appreciate your thoughts.

Dear Mary
I think it´s absolutely wonderful. The colours are so typical for a Northern sunset - at least that´s my general impression from Scandinavia, Iceland and Greenland although we also have the more yellow and reddish ones:-)
An image where the soul calms down when watching it.
Best wishes,
Annemette

Giuseppe Musumarra   {K:1168} 10/27/2006
An exellent landscape shot!
I like too the colors and the composition.
The horizont line placed at the center of the frame give a most beautiful simmetry at the reflex and at the clouds.
The bird on the left give a deep sense at the shot.
Giuseppe.:)

Hi Mary, thanks for your comments on my photo,as a learner I very much appreciate critique and opinion.
I sort of prefer this composition over the "Birds Eye 2" shot, it looks more balanced to me. I really like your portfolio, you obviously have a great eye.
Regards Mitch.
