About Somone was puzzled recently by my remark about manicure sets being probably all you need to tend most Japanese gardens. This photo is by way of an explanation. It is the ENTIRE (carefully tended and obviously well loved) garden of our nearest neighbours. I will post the little plaque that says, plaintively, "Bless this garden."

Here, as promised, is the little plaque, enlarged from the above photo (mid-left, on the wooden trellis).

Roger,

I love your images, when they give me a slice of life from another part of the world.

Wonderful capture, and fantastic details! I like this very much!

best,
-Joel

Well thank you Joel. Must say I wasn't expecting people to think much of the photo, more to be surprised at how TINY the garden is. The Japanese have a nice phrase for really small. "The size of a cat's forehead!" (grin)

The size of a cat's forehead.......must remember that one Roger.. This is a tiny garden and you certainly wouldn't need a large shed for the gardening tools:) :) A good journalistic study my friend, well done.....My very best wishes to you as always......Ray:)

what a great shot, roger, so indicative of the true size! my husband would love this yard. he hates to mow. i love the ivy in the foreground.

The small space is used well. Roger, I had a little more time to spend on the world panorama site. Boy! there is so much to see. The concept of the surround view is marvelous. I can see why you would get caught up in that idea.
