Very nice, Joel...could wish for a bit more light on the eye...

Ian McIntosh   {K:38401} 10/23/2006
beautiful soft light on all the sharp detail.

Theo Kieu   {K:57} 10/23/2006
if the eyes were open and more light it would be perfect

Hi Shirley,

thanks for the comments... yeah...i too wish his eye was open, and into the light. I felt here that the detail around the eye was interesting enough to hold the shot, but you're right, more light on the eye would be so much better.

thanks again!
cheers,
-Joel

You're welcome, Joel!:)

Hey Joel,

Great Pict! I actually don't think the shot is about the eye, never thought about it until I read some of the comments. I think with the incredibly textured skin, it's more of a graphic natured picture.
And if the eyes 'were' open, it would distract from his/her great eyelashes! ;-)

Joel Aron   {K:14920} 10/23/2006
Alex,

Thank you very much! you made my Monday! Lisa and I were looking at this after the comments came in about the eye open, and she pointed out what you said, and my original intent.. that if the eye were open, all of the attention would have gone to the reflection.

Thank you so much buddy! It's the age of the eyelash! ;)

cheers,
-Joel

hey joel, i've been loving your work of the zoo pets to the macros. elephants are my favorite animals, i just find it so amazing that elephants the size that they are can move so magestically and quietly, and they look 100 times better in the wild. great work, hope work is going well.

Andrew

Cool shot took a couple of minutes to figure it out. Nice texture. Kerry
