Hey Toshi! Looks like you're venturing into birds in flight! Very good shot, this is not an easy image to capture. You also seem to be close to him considering you've only used a 135mm at the long end and got a fairly large image. This is the secret to being a succesful bird photographer. How to get close and make the shot! Mr. Armani and Saenz are masters at this. Great job Toshi!

Hi Jinggoy, Thanks a lot for the comment! As I'm sure you know, it's rather difficult to get decent bird photos without a long telephoto; and the 135mm is the longest I have. So as you mentioned, I did have to get pretty close for this shot. I think I was about 3-4 feet away, maxed out at 135mm. I was lucky I didn't spook them :)

wow the wild (not at a feeder) hummingbird in fligh is one of the hardest to capture, you did excellent here, I think the wing blur is just about right, really impressive..

Hi Marcus, thanks so much for the comment. Sometimes you get lucky :) Getting shots like these makes me want to get a decent long telephoto and try more bird captures.

I love how the details are obvious in the wings even though they are moving so quickly. I was wondering what was on the beak in your previous post--pollen I see. Beautiful. MAry

Another beauty Toshi! A lovely composition, as Marcus says, what makes it special is the lack of any human element. So many of these come automatically with a plastic feeder. It's easier by far to catch them that way, but then you have a shot like every other Hummingbird photo. This one IS special! Andre
