You have captured the beauty and varying colours of the dying lily so well. The background is a perfect presentation format for this. Lovely. MAry

You see Joel, there are just not enough 'thinkers' out there!! This baking tray has great texture and colour, and obviously is a multi purpose item...great for backdrops, great for putting on your head if it rains, exceptional for catching water if your roof leaks during said rain....oh, and I suppose you COULD cook on it too if you were really desperate!! LOLOLOL cheers, B

Joel,
I love this new series; much more emotional than your earlier work with flowers.
I had always appreciated Mapplethorpe's 1980's work with flowers, but it has been copied so much, including myself, that it is so refreshing to see this work from you. You have inspired me once again to seek another path, in this week of shooting.
Well done and keep it coming!
Ciao, Johnny

Thank you very much John!
I've been waiting to have the time to pull out the baking sheet again, and wait for some lilies to die while under my well guided care (so they begin to fade with right amount of light, so they hold their shape better when they retire) ...i'm that morbid. I thnk that now, because I'm on vacation, and void of intense work stress, that my time with each exposure is longer, and more care is going into each fall-off of light and shape. I'm much more relaxed. I guess that the key!
Thank you so much for your very amazing comments!
..off to grab some b/w stil of the Fireside (near the Buckeye) today with my film SLR. that's my new phase this week... real film...develop at home..and scan the neg for prints. ..yes, i'm that bored.
cheers, and looking forward to your images this week!
-Joel
