Thanks, Tony. I agree with what you said about one's imagination. In this kind of work one often sees details and things different from what the photographer sees. I asked two friends to tell me what they thought of this image. Both of them saw an aquarium with fish and plants.
I took this shot cause I saw a flower on the right. Funny, isn't it?

Dit is een van je mooiste abstracten, althans naar mijn mening. Misschien komt dat doordat er weinig fantasie nodig is om hier een bloem in te zien. De kleuren vind ik geweldig mooi en vrolijk, de compositie is fraai en uitbundig. Het is toch wel een gave om deze beelden te zien and te ontdekken. Petje af :-)
Doe je nog wel een wat met je macro lens? Die lijkt me bijzonder geschikt hiervoor. Mijn hartelijke groeten. Rob.

Ik heb nog mijn macro lens en zolals misschin ook eerdar zei tegen je, ik heb drie prakyica en ee mamya camera gekocht met diverse lensen maar hb nog geen tijd gehad om ze te gevruiken. Mijn macrolens gebruik ik ook niet zo vaak. Wegens tijd gebrek ben ik de laatste tijd niet vaak aan het fotograferen geweest.
Mijn hartelijke groeten terug.

C'è molto di più nella tua ripresa fotografica che una semplice rappresentazione della realtà che ci circonda.
Nei tuoi astratti si trova di tutto; la fredda materia che si esprime attraverso la sintesi cromatica dove le sfumature e le tonalità imprimono forza all'impatto visivo realizzando ciò che ci è familiare nelle forme ma che non riusciamo a percepire perchè le hai strutturate in fotografia privandole della spazialità e quindi del loro riferimento reale.
Ed è l'esempio di ciò che percepisco io ovvero un girasole troncato dal suo gambo dal un violento colpo di vento che esprime ciò che nessuna altra forza può esprimere:
la forza della natura.

I do love your body of work here on usefilm. I love your sense of color and design. I'm a big fan of abstract images and you have many that are excellent. I'm not sure if it is the look you desire (which is just fine if it is!) or not but I would prefer to see some of your abstracts a bit sharper. Keep in mind I say this with all due respect to the creative choice to make them soft on purpose as I do on many occasions... I'm just saying on some for my eye I would like to see them sharper.

hi emgy, inderdaad we zijn buren! Ik woon zelfs heel dichtbij Enschede in het mooie plaatsje Oldenzaal. Maar reis(de) nogal veel door het land om (ook) te fotograferen. Bedankt voor je commentaar. Uiteraard heb ik ook even jouw portfolio bekeken en ik ben erg jaloers> wat een mooie collectie heb je. Erg kleurrijk en zulke mooie abstracte vormen. Ik houd wel van kleur in foto's, ik probeer zelf ook altijd mooie kleuren in het originele licht te fotograferen. soms is de licht in z/w weer mooier. en de abstractheid maakt het tot moderne kunst. Erg mooi gedaan. groetjes, marco.

Thank you so much for your kind words and honest critique. Yes, I had understood from another comment to one of my pics that you would like to see more sharpness in my images. Some of them are indeed not as sharp as most of you here probably would like. The reasons are a few. First of all, I'm technically a lousy photographer and a lazy one too cause I hardly ever bother taking my tripod with me, which, as you know, doesn't make it easy to shoot sharp pics.I often have one or two cameras with me but no tripod as I don't plan my shooting sessions. I have no time for it. I take pics only when I spontaneously see something that seems interesting to me. I love making images and the kind of work I do doesn't make me worry much about following all the photography rules. Another reason is probably the poor quality of a camera I've been using for quite a time, one with less than 1 million pixels, with which I could shoot pics with a maximum resolution of 640X480 (this photo here is one of them resized to 750). The third and most important reason is that, depending of the subject and the type of photo, I really like unsharp and soft images. I'm not sure why, exactly. I just find them appealing and having a special feel. I have many pics that were shot on purpose with a very soft focus and I like them.

Back to you cause in my first reply to your comment I accidentally said something that isn't correct. It's about the following part of my previous reply:

Let me be very clear... I have NO problem with soft - unsharp images done on purpose!! I have many and will make many more. That said I was simply voicing my opinion about some of your incredible work. For me you have a good enough eye for excellent subject matter that I feel you should take your work to the next level and use a tripod when you can! I love your artistic vision and champioin your desire to not have everything sharp! I'll post a new piece which should help you understand where I'm at with soft images... :)

Hey, wat grappig! Oldenzaal....ja, zeker en erg mooi stadje. Ik ga er vaak naat toe. Ik had begrepen dat je een Drenthenaar was. We zijn "meer buren" dan ik gedacht had!
Heel erg bedankt voor je prachtige woorden.
Ik heb je "about" gelezen. Ik ben er met je eens. Natuurlijk licht (als het erg mooi is) is inderdaad veel beter dan wat je via een fotobewerkingsprogramma kunt krijgen, zelfs een als PhotoShop. Maar....zoals je weet, kan men niet altijd geluk hebben.

Cara Marzia, grazie tante per il tuo interesse. Anche tu hai delle bellissime foto nel tuo portfolio, che ho appena rivisto un po'di fretta ma ci ritornero' dopo questa risposta. Questa non e'stata scattata in un battello ad Amsterdam ma vicino ad un edificio della UVA (University of Amsterdam) e per essere piu'precisa, e'parte di un grande contenitore di metallo del tipo che viene usato quando si fanno delle modifiche allínterno di una casa o edificio ed e'
necessario buttar via parti di muri, cemento, legno etc....
Le mie foto ti fanno pensare al mare forse per i colori? Non ne sono sicura ma e'un fatto che io vado pazza per il mare, le onde e le spiagge deserte.

Le tue foto non mi fanno pensare al mare per i colori, diciamo che contengono un "effetto mare". In realtà i tuoi astratti mi ricordano i disegni che si creano da soli sulle barche e le navi. Non ci posso far nulla, ogni volta anche se so che quel metallo potrebbe essere una parte di qualsiasi cosa, per il mio cervello è una barca. Forse è perchè ho nostalgia del mare, forse è un riflesso condizionato, come quando mi trovo in un punto panoramico cerco istintivamente il mare all'orizzonte. O forse (e questo mi piace di piu'), il mare sulle foto in qualche modo ce l'hai messo tu...
