Ciao, ben ritrovata su "lidi fotografici" oltreconfine! Ho letto riguardo gli ultimi avvenimenti, colgo brevemente l'occasione per dirti che mi dispiace per l'epilogo che ha avuto la vicenda.
Chiudo la parentesi e mi dedico al commento.

Si legge chiaramente una classica atmosfera lacustre nei colori, nella staticità delle acque nonostante quella leggera increspatura che rompe il riflesso aiutando a dare tridimensionalità all'immagine che altrimenti sarebbe risultata "piatta".
Traspare a mio avviso un po' di malinconia accentuata da quel sottile ramoscello che spunta solitario dalle acque come avviene, ad esempio, in occasione di una piena o un'alluvione autunnale.

I'm not 100% sure on this: I really like the symmetry with the reflection: there's just enough rippling to distort but not destroy.

I can't help thinking that the tight portrait crop takes away from what you saw when you took the photo - it's lost all its surroundings and context. By doing that, you've focused attention critically on the fragile form of the plant, which when looked at under such scrutiny seems (to me) to become unbalanced: the reflection is greener than the plant itself, yet teh water is greyer below than above.

I like the simplicity, but I feel that without such a close crop you'd have allowed the subject some room to breathe.
