About Amy and Sophie(aka Brian and Bob). Main posting in colour with a sepia conversion attached.

To Rina and Andre.....I have now tried out PS on Amy's eyes and it seems to have gone well, what do you think?? Spoke to Sarah, the Mother, and Amy has always had shadowed hollows for her eyes from yet another childhood ailment. Amy hates her eyes so I probably won't show her these results.

Double portrait in sepia

Larry Fosse   {K:65767} 11/12/2006
Tender portrait of these very pretty young ladies Ray

Shadi Porooshani   {K:9695} 11/12/2006
hi dear Ray :):)
very nice portrait my dear friend :)i like both
of them but the color one abit more than sepia one;)
have nice time
shadi

Chris Boivin   {K:9030} 11/12/2006
Hi Ray,
A lovely portrait of these sisters. I think I prefer the colour version only because the sepia tones seem to play with the shadows and create some lines (it could just be my laptop that I am on though). I also like the white background and lighting.
All the best,
Chris

Paul Lara   {K:77712} 11/12/2006
Nice, tight framing and nicely exposed portrait.

Giuseppe Guadagno   {K:33980} 11/12/2006
You have captured a sweet, deep love in this image. I like the photo very much.
Ray, for the portraits I almost always prefer the B&W version.
Take care.

Giuseppe

Marian Man   {K:64056} 11/12/2006
so tender dear Ray!!!!!!fine portrait of the pretty young sisters!!!! very well done by you!!!! I like the color version more than the sepia one :)
all the best
Marian

Dan Wilson   {K:13035} 11/12/2006
Very, very nice portrait. The lighting around the subjects is just perfect. I also love the composition. Great work

Alessandro Capelli   {K:34260} 11/12/2006
Directly into my favorite Ray! Beautiful double portrait of this beautiful two young lady, your neighbors daughters..I think I prefer Sophie, or as better Bob..;)
I like more the color version, Sophie's look is very attractive..we can see a woman in her look..in the sepia version she smile, and we can see her child side..;)
Have all the best my dear friend!
Ciao, Ale

Rina     {K:26519} 11/12/2006
Wow... Ray, outstanding work. Yep, all it needed was a subtle touch. Really, you haven't done much more than what a make-up concealer would do anyway. It's that good. You'll have to show Amy what you've done. I'm certain she'll love it. Please tell her from me that she has gorgeous eyes and that she resembles my niece (currently doing very well as a model, I might add), even down to the hairstyle and colours!

The sepia version is just as delicious. Both images exude warmth and love, and both would be ideal prints for the girls to treasure always.

Well done Ray my friend, well done...

Rina

Don Loseke   {K:32500} 11/13/2006
A great pose and lighting. May I suggest that you need a small light near the camera to put catchlights in the eyes or you could even do that in photoshop. Very nice color. Don.

Roberto Okamura   {K:22842} 11/13/2006
Lovely portrait Ray!
Excellent composition!
Roberto.

Kes     {K:18269} 11/13/2006
Hi Ray -

The lighting and exposure is spot-on here. Skin tones look accurate too. This is a wonderful pose that shows a bond between these sisters.
Very professional, congrats!
All the best,
Kes

Dave Stacey   {K:114933} 11/13/2006
Very nicely done portrait of these two, Ray! Great pose and expressions, and even the colours of their clothes compliment each other. Well done!
Dave.

Benedetto Riba   {K:15792} 11/13/2006
Hi dear Ray, wonderful details and splendid expression of model you have captured, great double portrait.
So many compliments and regards.

stingRay .   {K:136763} 11/13/2006
I didn't spot that Don.....due to the lighting in the conservatory and the room left to work in with all the furniture around the sides I either strike lucky with natural catchlights or add them in later.....I forgot. I concentrated on what Rina and Don had to say about the previous posting of Amy. Cheers my friend, thanks for popping in........Very best wishes....Ray

stingRay .   {K:136763} 11/13/2006

Robert Gaither   {K:29191} 11/13/2006
Both their eyes look fine. I think no matter how we look something about us we don't like but others do? Excellent pose and portrait.

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 11/13/2006
Beautiful portrait of the two sisters together Ray. Their wonderful position exudes warmth and feeling. This comes across in both versions. The expressions beautiful.

Rashed Abdulla   {K:153041} 11/13/2006
This is not just a portrait here my friend but an image of very great moment and with perfect and well balanced exposure, very amazing saturated colors and details

Thanks a lot my friend for sharing this wonderful image with us

Wishing you all of the best my friend

Robert Kocs   {K:89061} 11/13/2006
Dear my friend, this double portrait well done, I think
so the sepia version gives more sensual mood. But my
opininon is not legal because my favourite mode is sepia.
However this composition very nice and full of emotions
and telling the story from deep sisterhood! Absolutely
stunning work as technically & as emotionally.
Well, this is a great work by you! Take care!!!

All the best wishes to you dear Ray!
Robert

a. gianfranco baccelli   {K:19333} 11/13/2006
Beautiful double portratits, Ray! I like specially the sepia version.

Andre Denis   {K:55922} 11/14/2006
Hi Ray,
From our earlier conversations, I know how you dislike messing around with your images in post processing. But you've done a great job Ray! I'm pretty sure Rina and your models would agree:) The trick is to keep it natural and not remove too much of the shadow or dark rings.
Great job on this very charming composition too!
I give the colour version a slight edge. But you know me, I'm a sucker for B&W, so I could change my mind on the next viewing.
Andre

Alicia Popp   {K:82471} 11/14/2006

Mohammad Porooshani   {K:20705} 11/17/2006
Wonderful Light control dear Ray,
But I feel some unwanted details on the upper lady. but I like it very much.
Brian and bob, it resembles me like they were remark you as : Uncle Mary ;)
P.S.: Hi, it seems that I was so far from here that you removed me from your friend list, but, you will be always in my list dear ray.

stingRay .   {K:136763} 11/17/2006
Hi there Mohammad......I thought you had left UF my friend for you never visited me for ages and you rarely post images. I am aware that quite a few old friends have gone elsewhere and I just tidied up my friend list. If you are still a member then you shall be back on my list very quickly indeed.

Couldn't understand the bit 'But I feel some unwanted details on the upper lady' You remembered well, they still call me Uncle Mary My very best wishes to you as always and I shall hope to 'see' more of you from now on. Take care my dear friend......Ray

Mohammad Porooshani   {K:20705} 11/17/2006
Well, first, thanks for adding me again, I felt sorrow when I saw my friends list and I was not in your list,
and about my last comment, when I was looking at the shot, I felt the upper lady has some noises on the face which I thought it's because of some sort of sharpening, but then I felt it's OK, even now,
that's it,
Thanks again,
Mohammad

Roberto Arcari Farinetti   {K:177120} 11/17/2006

ciao
roby
;)

stingRay .   {K:136763} 11/17/2006
Thank-you again my friend......If you read the comments from Rina and Andre Denis in the solo shot of Brian (Amy) you will see why there is a bit of PS interference that you might have picked up. I don't like playing with my shots too much in PS these days but I thought I would try out their tips.......See what you think my good friend.....All the best

Sergio M. Cameno   {K:7670} 11/19/2006
I like the contrast of colours, not only in her clothes but among their hairs as well.

The white background enhances the composition of this very sharp image.

Well done, my friend!

Take care of you!

My best regards, as always ;)

Robert Gaither   {K:29191} 11/20/2006
The eyes look fine photoshop wouldn't help my mug? Excellent portrait and capture.

Alison DuFlon   {K:35781} 11/22/2006
What a great double portrait, beautiful tones and a great pose. I like the sepia as well, but the color is so pretty and soft. Alison

Susie  Peek-Swint   {K:5035} 11/27/2006
A lovely portrait of these sisters Ray ~ a very relaxed and natural capture, they must be very pleased with this :)

Anne Knes   {K:46833} 11/27/2006
nice portrait.

Thank-you sweet Anne.......When will you be posting again?.......All the best...Ray

NN     {K:26787} 11/27/2006
The arrangement here is a bit like in your bio pic :) I know nothing about portraits but have heard that the confidence between the parts involved is essential for a successful result. They look very relaxed - and without doubt the photographer is the right one! Somehow I like the colour version a bit better, but of course both are very good!

Nilanjan Mitra   {K:12245} 12/8/2006
beautiful... this looks great.. the effect is good too... :)

Orazio Minnella   {K:46644} 12/10/2006

Many thanks to you dear Orazio....All the best

Srna Stankovic   {K:106748} 1/7/2007
Hello Ray,
I think I prefer the colour version because the sepia tones seem to play with the shadows and the lighting around these two beautiful sisters is just perfect. So warm and tender :) goes well with their expressions on young faces and young colors on the clouths they have :)
Lovely portrait Ray!
Excellent composition! Exellent done my dear Ray.
Warm regards and congr, 7 +++, Srna

Ahmed Ismail   {K:19853} 7/6/2007
I like the sepia one too. Beautiful double portrait! Lovely sisters! I like the colors here against the white background. Very nicely done my friend!
Regards, Ahmed
