About This was taken at a street event. The girl just stood out in the crowd. So, I had to snap.

Yes, she really does stand out, both because of her looks and your choice of aperture. You've composed well, too. There's also something old-fashioned about her, when I first saw the thumbnail I assumed it was a 1950's style shoot.
Regards, Gary

The subject is so wholesome looking and the B&W capture makes me think of pictures taken in the 50's & early 60's. Excellent capture of this attractive subject. Nice range of grey tones and good exposure.

Stunning shot, lovely use of DOF. I love everything about this image.

I think it works much better in black and white as you have chosen, because I could imagine the colours would have been very strong

Yes, moved by a higher power. Did you do any post processing work?

Wayne Harridge   {K:12080} 11/14/2006
Very nice - I'd like to see a closer shot of those eyes.

James - every time I scan a photo from the negative, and prepare it for web view, there is always some form of post processing, ie. curves and sharpening.

When I shoot film, it's usually B&W, and when I do that I use the Zone System (Ansel Adams). That usually ensures I get the tonal values I want. It also means, very little PS. Of course these days, I use my film camera very little, as I no longer have my darkroom, which has been replaced by Photoshop and my Mac...

Thanks for taking the time to comment :-)

Wayne, believe me... So would I... hehehe

FYI, this was taken at Fed. Sq. during the UF get together we had some time ago...

Thanks for commenting :-)

You're doing a lot more with T-Max that I ever did. I guess I've color in me bones. I don't know the Zone System but I am familiar with the work of Ansel Adams. I'll have to investigate that more. Thanks for all the information. See you around.

Yes beautiful woman. I also see some shapes to the right of her that tend to accent her shape. It makes the photo work! Nice shot.
