About OBS, the title has nothing to do with any personal longings. This is an old place outside Uppsala which i have passed SOOO many times and always said to my self that i have to stop there before it will fall apart. I think it´s about 10 years now from the first thought. So it was surely time. An old pump station, as you might see. I had good luck with the light and a snow storm where heading against me...

Certainly evokes a deserted feeling...excellent work

Hi Jeanette, an interesting photo document, showing that things are similar across the globe. Nice reflections, and the broken sign against the sky adds to the empty feeling. I grew up working for my father in a similar place; there is a special feeling here.

10 years that you though to capture it!!! Wow.. impressive .
Nice capture Jeanette, and good perspective. There is almost all the different things that a photographer used often separately for his photo : reflection, different lines, perspective, shadows, a feeling of loneliness..
Congratulations Jeanette for this beautiful capture

interesting blend of colour and the subjects definitely reflect age.kind of a run down motel from the past feel to it. brian

Maurizio Massetti   {K:30182} 12/2/2006
Desolation an minimalism, it's difficult to believe that this image was taken in Scandinavia...

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59778} 12/4/2006
Yes i see what you mean and i like this kind of places.....and some do exist in scandinavia as well :)

Lovely contrast in colour, sure worth the wait(you should have taken one 10 years ago just for comparison, would be very interesting). Kind regards.

great place and photo!

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 12/11/2006
A sense of stillness and emptiness. And that empty sign makes you wonder what will be there next. So atmospheric with great shadows and reflections.

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 12/12/2006
What a great pleace... I may spent hours there...

Marcus Armani   {K:35759} 12/13/2006
HI Jeanette, Very strong scene, I get the feeling of time past. I think the old structure is very appealing and tells a story, you could not have picked a better moody day to shot this, excellent..
P.S. how have you been?
Marcus..

Hi Jeanette, what are you up to? Haven't seen you posting much lately. I hope you're well, working on some great project.
Only YOU could pull such a great image out of an ordinary place, one that I normally pass by without even thinking! I think the warm colors and warm lighting add a sense of calm and nostalgia, despite the desolation. Well seen and well taken :) Ina

Shelby Shumate   {K:9667} 2/5/2007
It turned out very strange & mysterious. I really like it. Like something one would picture in a true crime story. Maybe somewhere the person of interest was last seen. I don't know. But it creates a silent story. Love this.

Jeanette Hägglund   {K:59778} 2/15/2007
Thanks Ina and so nice to see you around. You were away for such long time. I´m very busy with photography and can´t complain but of course i miss you ;))

Jeanette
