About We always have deer wondering around our neighborhood. I love seeing them around. We spotted a couple at the top of our favorite sledding hill so I ran back home and grabbed my camera. I was actually shooting two young deer when this bigger one popped out from behind a different tree.

I posted this on our local news weather pics web-site and then to my surprised was contacted by the Ellen Degeneres show. They wanted to know if they could possibly use this on their show! I'm not sure if they will decide to use this one or not, but I'm honored that they even asked!

Oh well done to you my dear Sheila......how lovely to have the possibility of seeing your work on the TV. It is a wonderful shot sweetie and I particularly love the way the deer has raised one leg, which is a sure sign of nervousness. You probably didn't get a lot of time to compose but this result could not have been any better. A magical wildlife moment in a beautiful Winter scene. Well done to my clever girl.....Take care, 'see' you again soon and DON'T stay away for so long. Big hugs and best wishes.....Ray;)

It is an awsome catch. Excellent composition. If the deer was only focused. Sorry but she seems a bit soft. Still a good capture.

Thanks Sascha. I've been trying to get a good shot of our local deer for years. They're always wondering through our neighborhood and snacking on our plants, but the lighting never seems to be right and they always get spooked when I get too close. I was very excited to get a few shots of them during our big snow storm.

Sheila,

Very nice photograph. White monochromatic background with the brown colored deer, beautifully done. Great moment and you were ready.

Best wishes,
Gary
