I like it Mary ... I like the reflections and shadows here --strange time of day to get this moody landscape too.. I like the leaves in the water, and the title .

Best Wishes,
Michele~

Fabrice Gourbilleau   {K:58301} 12/3/2006
Great play with the tree to capture this shot under the sunrays. I like the tones and the atmosphere you captured Mary. The relection on the surface of the water with these slight waves emphasizes the feeling of peace that you obtain by the pov you choose.
This is an excellent capture Mary
Congratulations

Shirley D. Cross   {K:151651} 12/4/2006
You're welcome, dear Mary!:)

Mark Sherman   {K:15637} 12/5/2006
the golden color is awesome what I really like is almost the complete loss of perspective in a way. You could make the bottom the top and it would look just as serenely beautiful.

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 12/5/2006
Thanks Mark. That's exactly what I have been trying to get the hang of- getting them upside down. Harder than I thought to get the right picture! (Keep looking at yours to learn!). I didn't know what to do with the sun in this one!

Mark Sherman   {K:15637} 12/5/2006
Forgive me Mary but this was so much fun to work with. Hope you like. Just a crop and put the sky on the bottom. Since I am in a black and white mood turned it to that and did some doge/burn. With your comment about the sun, I thought I would crop it a bit.

Mary's world

Robert Chin   {K:21672} 12/5/2006
Lovely moody image Mary, very nice reflections
and colors which gives a relaxing feel.
Take care
Robbie

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 12/5/2006
Well, this made me cheer and jump for joy! Ain't it great when learning is such fun?! I love it! And definitely like the strong B&W mood- especially without the sun. And the title very apt of course- I can go to that world whenever I want now! Many thanks Mark- you keep me on the learning curve! (But it might be upside down of course!).

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 12/5/2006
Thanks Robbie- pleased you liked the winter sun!

Mark Sherman   {K:15637} 12/5/2006
the fun part is if there were more leaves in the water, the way they ended up in the reflection they almost look like daylight stars. If you had gotten the reflection of the sun it would have been a very surreal moment. just an idea bouncing around

Mark

stingRay part 2 .   {K:238996} 12/5/2006
Hi there sweetie.....I love the toning effects you have here, not B&W nor really a true sepia but something that gives this landscape study a gentle and delicate look. I love the starring of the sun as it peeps through the leaves and I love too the wonderful silhouetting of the trees along the water's edge.

Well done to you my dear friend Mary and trust you to lapse into mudpies and dirty knees I am so pleased that you are getting out and about but just around the corner from you we haven't seen so much rain as there has been of late for a very long time, that and high winds and bits of brrrr starting to appear My very best wishes to you as always plus a big hug......Ray;)

Orazio Minnella   {K:48355} 12/5/2006

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:126692} 12/6/2006
Nice work here, Mary. One of those photos that are best viewed from the distance, as both the composition and the many details contribute for creating an overall impression that shouldn't be "analyzed" by looking at the photo from too close. Definitely a moody atmosphere.

Nick

elizabeth Blair   {K:2202} 12/8/2006
Oh days of sun and trees on the leaves is gone for awhile here!! Great work with almost making the trees a silohette. The colour a sepia but warmer. Giving is a warm but mysterious look to the picture. Would love to sit at the edge of the lake and just listen to the silence. My ears would absorb all around and be my calming remedy. See, it inspires me!! lol
Great Work Mary!!;)

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 12/8/2006
Thanks Elizabeth- pleased you liked this- you have made me think more positively about winter days!
