DDCI...Too funny my friend! I first read your comments from my e-mail and didn't realize you had attached a new, improved (and I'M using the term loosely) version until this morning...now the second comment makes perfect sense!

Thank you for the honesty (always appreciated), the flattery (wow, I'm honored), and the pano idea (we'll see if I can pull it off).

I hope you and Marlyce had a wonderful Christmas with the family!

Take care...Robin

. . . Water . . . need ( * gasp * ) . . . water!

Doyle D. Chastain Doyle D. Chastain   {K:101119} 12/26/2006
You should have ventured out once or twice to water this poor thing! LoL!!! Seems to me to be a LOT of negative space on the right side . . . almost 1/2 of the entire image. That's a lot of canvas to leave for some of your imaginative friends to play with. It also seems like a tad too much on the empty space menu . . .

The floral (and I'm using the term loosely) image . . . still life doesn't seem appropriate because of the 'L' word . . . is pretty good. You have that trademark narrow DOF which has become almost part of your floral persona . . . and it works well for you. The conveyance of color and texture as good as can be and typical of the quality of work you have become known for (and that's a good thing) . . . something others try to emulate (when there's no PESKY ocean breeze!) -- quality you make look easy . . . but which isn't. I'm intrigued at the dark BG . . . devoid of detail . . . but nicely isolating the subject and yet . . . the superb DOF is shown in the . . . object . . . uhhhhh . . . Subject(!) itself!

Excellent title too . . . reflected very well in the subject matter here . . . complete with the layered levels of meaning . . . like the image itself. I think you might have a great Seasonal motif for this . . . a characteristic shot for each of the four seasons . . . might even make a great Pano! Of course . . . you'd need shots symbolic of the seasons and the corresponding titles would be important too....:)

Season's Best Wishes,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Great idea, image and title Robin! Beautiful colours makes mid winter look warm and promising! Good to hear you got out with the camera- may more of that continue for you in the New Year.

Hey Gayle...busy tracking Santa on NORAD when I got your comment...Collin and I are watching his progress...way cool!

Dare to be different I say...no ornaments, lights, snow, or poinsettia here...just plain old winter. Thanks for the comment...glad you like!

Happy Holidays and warm wishes to you and yours...Robin

Wow Robin! Very well done! I LOVE the black background for this shot- it really makes the flower pop off the page. The lighting and DOF are both fantastic! Great job! 7+
