So professional, so classic and so beauty to see in the panoramic version! Hope for you an award Chris!!

Thanks Giulio... just enjoy the moment!

Cheers,
Chris

Such a superb image. This captures the essence of the speed that these craft could achieve. I can see the difficulty one would have in capturing the entire vessel in a single image. What type of craft were you in to get these marvelous images?

Nice action shot here, Chris! Great pano!
Dave.

Thanks George, I was in 24ft Alpha inflatable, which belongs to the NYYC. I was with Dan Forester who is probably the most accomplished race sailing photographer in the world, and is the official Rolex photographer for all their sailing events.

Cheers,
Chris

Nice shot, you captured a beautiful speed moment.

I like this a lot, particularly the focal length you used - approx. 45mm on 35mm format. The only negative thing that struck me is the wake of the RIB you were in, in the image. Of course this was unavoidable at this angle but it would be quite incredible if the waves in the bottom left were the natual waves from the (F5?) wind.

A great priviledge to be out with the photographer you were with.

Best wishes

Thanks Keven for the effort in this comment. It was blowing about 15 knots if I remember correctly.

Have a look through the rest of my portfolio for more Ranger/sailing photos,

Cheers,
Chris

Fantastic shot Chris, the only thing I could suggest to improve this would be a more interesting sky but you had no control over that. The image is very dramatic, I love the waves and spray, the sails clearly pulling the vessel forward, the great coloured deck complimenting the dark green of the water, the shape of the nose of the vessel. What a nice looking sailboat. great composition, very sharp focus and excellent dof. I'd be very proud of this shot.

All the best,
Joe
