About The Hohenzollern crypt at Berlin Cathedral is of particular historical, cultural, and artistic significance. lt contains 94 coffins and sarcophagi from the end of the 16 up to the beginning of the 20 century, which, together with the sarcophagi in the Sermon Church, makes 100 tombs covering 500 years of Brandenburg and Prussian history. Nearly all of the Great Elector‘s family members and the kings Friedrich 1 and Friedrich Wilhelm II with their wives have their funeral places in this crypt. Sophie Dorothea (+ 1757), the mother of King Friedrich II, the so-called Frederic the Great, and his wife Elisabeth Christine (+ 1797) were laid to rest here, as well as the legendary Prince Louis Ferdinand (+ 1806, fighting Napoleon), and Admiral Prince Albert (+ 1873), supreme commander of the Prussian navy. The coffins and sarcophagi, some sumptuous, some plain, are made of stone, metal or wood, and represent all periods of art from the late Gothic to the early 20 century.

Great interior shot with arches and great lighting, Winfried. Very interesting "about" - the Hohenzollerns were also kings of Romania until 1940.
