About African Black Oystercatcher (Haematopis moquini). One of the most endangered endemic bird species occurring along the coast from northern Namibia (west coast) to Kwazulu-Natal (east coast) of Southern Africa - total population between 5000 and 6000. Man disturbing its nesting site is the main reason for their endangered status although it seems as if conservation efforts are slowly changing its fate to the positive.

What a beauty the colours and the composition. I like the background only half blurried. A beautiful bird, never seen before. Thanks for sharing and informing, Joggie.
Take care.
