very good depth of field. I like the tones very much..and good details.

I like that this is done in black and white. I think it help intensify the concentration in the eyes. Very nice.

Miranda - After looking at both the color and B&W I am hard pressed to pick. The color photo shows off the beautiful color of the cat and the B&W gives more attention to the markings and the eyes. If you pressed me I would pick the B&W as preferred because it has more visual impact in my viewing. Either way, it is wonderful that this good looking stray gives the appearance of posing (although no doubt he was just checking you out). I very much like the shallow depth of field, a byproduct of the 85 mm lens and the distance to the subject. Good going to get this one.
--Best to you, Jan

Thanks everyone!

I instinctively like the colour version better, but I must admit that the B/W has much more impact on the viewer, it makes the eyes appear quite hypnotic. Your use of shallow DOF also adds enormously to the impact and drama of the shot, I like it very much!
