About Well I finally got a HDR to work!

this is several exposures from 1/500th sec to 30 seconds in 2 stop steps.

It's looking throuhg the gates of Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds.

These things take a while and require a tripod and patience, but they do allow images that are impossible with traditional techniques.

great details, wonderful DOF, great composition, very nice capture.

So you take the same picture many times and put them in layers??? What do you mean by HDR? Just want to learn more and more.

Wonderful result.

it's that kind of thing, you take several exposures to cover all the light and dark areas, then you make a HDR file. THis is then used by a tone mapping package to produce images. It's still a young technology and seems to work best with architecture. landscape - not so good :-(
