About Don't ask me why, but this bovine was 'talking' to me the whole time I took his portrait, and his lovely face had some great expressions. I have dubbed him Arthur, because he reminded me of an old bloke telling stories.

The name fits Him like a glove, I'd say!And you did a great job with this capture! The crop is perfect and the clarity stunning! What story was this one telling?
Gabriela

Hi there Gabriela, he was informing me of 'back in the day' when he was quite the stud (LOL) running with the other young bulls, but now he isn't really up to it because he has bad knees and has to sit down a lot!! Maybe.....I'm not too sure, will have to brush up on my 'moo-speak' next time I call around for a chat.
Thanks so much for your great comment, it is very much appreciated, and I will tell Arthur that you said to say hi!
cheers, Bek

Arthur is quite a character, with his little horns and very red spotted nose. Interesting that he is such a communicator. Wonder what he was really trying to tell you...

rebecca claassen   {K:16419} 1/14/2007
Probably that he did not consent to having his portrait taken and that as soon as he could get a lift into town he would call his lawyer...and did I have some hay? Does that sound about right?
cheers and thanks Shirley, B :^)

You are a 'kick', dear Bek...I love your interpretation!:)

he is such a great character, and he looks like a real talker too! Excellent detail, and very fine composition.

So I guess if he's off to his lawyer, you didn't have a model release for him then!!! Tsk tsk Bek!!

Bek -- Arthur, the Talking Bull. How funny! As you may have guessed, this one will go in my Favorite folder as I am bovine inclined; Lord knows, if I lived on a farm people would start to talk. This is a great shot, orb, eye lashes, the spotted nose, the "smile" and the great texture of the fur. And best of all the folded legs! Wowee; thanks for posting this one.
--Best to you, Jan

Happy to give you a giggle Larry, B :^)

Thankyou Joe, your comment is very much appreciated, Bek

I know, I know, I should be more careful!! But you know ...we were chatting, and he seemed to be very relaxed and easy going, so I didn't think he'd mind, but then he started dropping phrases like 'breach of bovine rights' and 'how you can't just sit in a paddock these days without SOMEONE comming along thinking that they can splash your horns all over the internet without so much as a "thankyou and a bale of hey to help you out"' and things like that, so maybe I will steer (lol) clear of hanging out in strange paddocks in the future just in case I DO end up in caught for a load of bull!
:^) B

Court, not bloody caught....oh too many late nights/early mornings are taking their toll!!

rebecca claassen   {K:16419} 1/15/2007
Now Jan, this is not the aformentioned 'pretty' cow we have spoken of.
No, Arthur was a random roadside con-artist, trying to make a few bales while posing seductively (oeer, people might start talking about me TOO!) on the fenceline, waiting for some poor sap to wander along with a few minutes to spare and a bit of conversation for a supposedly 'lonely ole fella'.
Don't be fooled Jan, these guys are DANGEROUS!! The papers from his lawyers arrived this morning and we have a trial date in three weeks. I wonder if any of his friends will back me up?
cheers, B xxx

Jan Hoffman   {K:39373} 1/15/2007
Watch out for those lawyers; they are just after your moooney.

rebecca claassen   {K:16419} 1/15/2007
:^O!!!!! I'll bet they will try to milk me for all I've got too!

Robin Wickenkamp   {K:16434} 1/15/2007
He's not telling a story, he's singing Old McDonald had a farm...a cluck cluck here and a moo moo there, e,i,e,i,ooooo! (do you know that song down under?)

Excellent clarity and color Bek!

Hugs...Robin

rebecca claassen   {K:16419} 1/16/2007
And on that farm he had a giraffe girl e-i-e-i-o! Yeah we know that one down here. By the way, you may have to check your settings, because until I read your comment I wasn't aware that I had removed the key-hole one!! And I haven't...it's still there :^) LOL
How is the labotomy recovery coming along? All well I hope. That lensbaby looks fantastic, can't wait to see the gems you come up with using that new treasure!! How exciting!
Hugs to you and yours, GG xxxx
