SUPER ANGLE AND WONDERFUL LINES / LOVE THE COMPOSITION

Another excellent shot of this building. Very strong diagonals, very good exposure and focus. Excellent composition. I agree with Wayne that the angled perspective works very well for this shot.

Thank you, Joe. Because ss I mentioned, I didn't have the camera with the wide angle lens, I looked for ways to get more view into the picture, and so, the diagonal worked for me :) Ina

Hi Ina,
It's busy, but attractive! I'm sure this all went into the planning and design of the BCE place. Interesting how so many modern buildings are either transparent like this one, or make use of the reflections of the surroundings.
I guess this way the building becomes like a living thing that changes with the weather, sunlight and darkness.
Andre

I like the composition, with all the angles and curves here, Ina! You've really caught the patterns in this shot.
Dave.

Thanks Andre, this architect Calatrava is famous for these airy structures with lines that look organic and flexible. The atmosphere inside was great, like entering a cathedral. At one end, right at the entrance there was a bronze statue commemorating the Irish famine, a very interesting connection to the Irish immigrants to this country, but also interestingly placed in the pinnacle of banking & finance :)Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 1/17/2007
Hey Paolo, I think it's great in blue! It's more vibrant and I think you just gave me some ideas :) I'll try some more colors - Thanks! Ina

Hi Ina,
Interesting that they would mix this kind of structure with bronze sculptures commemorating the Irish famine.
Are the statues anything like this one that I got some images of in Boston?
This is a composite that I did a little while ago. Actually I just noticed you already gave me a nice comment on it.

Andre, the idea is the same - I revisited your picture, and the artist is different - Irish sculptor Rowan Gillespie. There is going to be an Ireland Park & Memorial on Bathurst & Front St., at the harbour entrance. Just Google "Ireland Park Foundation" - I don't know if a link will go through. Here's my view from the outside of the BCE Place. Best regards, Ina

Hi Ina,
The artist may be different, but the style of the statue looks similar, doesn't it? I'll check out that site.
Andre

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 1/18/2007
Hi Andre, I thought it might be the same artist, indeed very similar styles. This artist has a set of 7 statues in Dublin - an installation, very dramatic.
