About Doing the photo session . . . I was lucky to capture two of these guys launching from the dandelion! I was thinking it would be SO poetic if I could say a gentle zephyr wafted through and lifted these two . . . but the truth is I shot this under controlled light and it was movement (probably mine) which caused the lift-off. Oh well . . . a breeze MIGHT have lifted a LOT more off!!! :)

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55404} 2/1/2007
Very poetic and beautiful, the title is quite funny and fitting. Clarity on the moving subject of interest and a good frame. Yes, I like this:-)
Take care
Annemette
Ps: Zephyr I must look up:-)Maybe a fairy or a small friendly vampyre?:-))

Leonie Fitzpatrick   {K:40473} 2/1/2007
Beautiful Doyle... Delicate rebirth of a new dandelion... A shot of baby, if you will, with detail :)...

Also love the crop and the pick up of the seed colour in the frame border... :)

Extra nice Sir...:)

(Thank heavens you didn't sneeze... a multiple birth in the making... ~~GRIN~~ )

Onie...

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100221} 2/2/2007
Well Thank you Annemette. A zephyr is a small, light breeze . . . known to be gentle. Not nearly so dramatic . . . but poetic. Appreciate the comment!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100221} 2/2/2007
Wow Onie . . . Baby pictures! Love the concept . . . and I don't have to pay for these guys to go to college!! Thanks for the smile my friend!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Ann  Van Breemen   {K:11828} 2/2/2007
Well timed and caught Doyle. As you say, a real breeze might have taken the lot and you would have been left with a stalk. That wouldn't have been a very good look at all. Cheers, Ann.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100221} 2/2/2007
Thanks very much Ann!

Liz Wallis   {K:25679} 2/2/2007
I really like this on a lot Doyle...i think its because that one little bit lifted it head, to stand out from the crowd....ummmm...yep...thats it :) Really great DOF, and a super fine job capturing such a difficult subject...(i always manage to lose them before I get the shot!!)
Cheers,
Liz

John Hatz   {K:149382} 2/2/2007

woow doyle, also this one is a real impressive macro.. i have nominated your works, but it seems that the staff member are "without ears".. :) I have followed the forum from gayle and you... and i agree with the particular gayle's idea! many Time ago have proposed something of similar, but never has left.. I would be strong if you saw this.. means that the "family" is active..
have all the best my friend. and happy week edn
best regards

Uhhhh . . . Robin? Psssst . . . I was just funnin' ya . . . I know . . . errrr . . . I THINK you . . . uhhhhh . . . already know big words. Marlyce is rooting for the Bears . . . referred to in this house as DA' BEARS. :) I'll hear from you after the colts . . . errrrr . . . DA' BEARS pick up the trophy - - - - - - - LoL! Last message sounded a tad urgent so I'm hoping all is well . . . and you're not just simply missing the last few imnutes of Oprah! ;)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100221} 2/4/2007
Thanks Roby . . . probably not a good idea to attack staff members, huh? You have to wonder why a person would give awards if that person is going to be challenged for having done so. . . . and getting questioned not on the merits but on the ethics might make anybody wonder why they bother. Hopefully the situation will improve soon. Time will tell. Until then . . . we shoot!! :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Roberto Arcari Farinetti   {K:179570} 2/4/2007
my don't was attack my friend..only i have the sensation that is so "nothing person" arouond.. it seems that the post are only post,.. sure i'm without sense of award. i love the photography and the friend.. the staff (phantasmagoric) are so strong,..is better don't see the staff!!!

Robin Wickenkamp   {K:16448} 2/5/2007
You?...funnin' me?...unheard of! Big words, hmmmm...like: deoxyribonucleicacid, verisimilitude, or plebeian...uh-uh not me, don't know any big words.

I hope Marlyce wasn't as disappointed as the fans here...sheesh, after the game we had to take away their shoelaces, belts, and sharp objects! ;)

So, on to the real reason I'm here...
Great title, and great control...you exhaled just enough to initiate lift off without blowing the whole thing out of the water...or should I say into the air? The black backgroound was an excellent choice, really shows all the delicate detail. And well composed of course! All in all...ya done good Double D!

Take care...Robin

ps...Last message was a tad urgent, we're having a baby tomorrow, two months early...nerves and time are stretched a bit thin right now. Say a prayer, OK?! :)

vanessa shakesheff   {K:65142} 2/5/2007
Lovely shot ..like the crop and focus ..nice timing..nessa 7

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100221} 2/6/2007
Robin:

While your prayers are likely more than enough you can be sure that mine will be added. As the king of cool . . . I have a bit of pull with 'G'! Might be condescending to say don't worry . . . not to mention a waste of breath . . . so I'll not bother.

These events are often considered routine but when my Dad had his 'routine' open heart surgery he snapped at the Doctor that "It's NOT routine for ME!" Wise words if you ask me! Let me know, ok?

Oh . . . glad to see you have a dictionary handy! ;)

Warm (Prayerful) Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100221} 2/6/2007
I understand Roby. Time heals all wounds my friend . . . and the exuberance of the string was not shared by all so just give it time. Nessuno Roby di problema. Il tempo guarisce tutte le lesioni. :)

Take care...Robin

Sheila Carson   {K:5915} 2/15/2007
Hello Doyle!

I think I like this one the best out of the three. I really like how the top curves in, through and then out of the picture. The dark background works great with the subject and great timing on the lift-off! Well done!

I tried so hard to get a good shot of one of these last summer. You'll notice that I didn't post one so it's obvious that I wasn't successful!

Have a great weekend!
-Sheila

Linda Mac Donald   {K:1567} 2/16/2007

Maryanne Murillo   {K:9771} 2/22/2007
Nice shot, and I like your "about." I went through a phase where I decorated my living room with cattails -- I'm sure it was quite picturesque when one of them "burst" -- but I wasn't there to photograph it -- I only dealt with the aftermath.

Very cool.

Maryanne

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:100221} 2/22/2007
Thanks Maryanne . . . very much. I haven't seen cattails (which I also love) since I left South Dakota! Very cool!
