Nice. I love the sharpness and the short DOF. You might try cropping a little off the bottom, but that's nit-picking. It's a great shot.:)

Jan Hoffman   {K:39373} 2/4/2007
Excellent picture of this beautiful creature. Well done!

A most excellent portrait of this fellow, Bruce!:)

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 2/5/2007
Thanks Greg, I thought of cropping some more, and also thought of having his head coming out of a frame but ... well another day perhaps.

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 2/5/2007
Cheers Jan, not everyone would think snakes beautiful but I'm with you there. Thanks.

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 2/5/2007
Thanks Sascha, glad you stopped by.

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 2/5/2007
Cheers Padmasankar, glad you like it.

Thanks Shirley - his name is Steve after Steve Irwin and is my daughter's pet that she got just after he died. And in case anyone comments, yes, she has got a licence to keep him.

Shirley D. Cross   {K:141852} 2/6/2007
Oh what a sweet tribute. Really, I think Steve Irwin would be pleased.

Marcus Armani   {K:35759} 2/7/2007
wow bruce this is amazing, the perfect focus on the head of the snake and the quick drop off in depth is a wonderful sight, excellent..

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 2/7/2007
Thanks Marcus, I was happy with the way it turned out because it was a warm day & Steve was quite active.

A dangerous picture, and very well executed!!! Congrats my friend!!

Tim  Schumm   {K:27167} 2/20/2007
wow what iridescence on his scales. Amazing colors reflecting off...i know, it is a hypnotic thing so he can wrap himself around you without you being aware....ha-ha

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 2/20/2007
Thanks Leo, but actually not so dangerous. The pink colour in the background is my daughter's finger, so now you know the scale, and of course python's are not poisonous.

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 2/20/2007
Hi Tim, he can wrap himself around my hand, but that's about it so I think I'm pretty safe from his hypnotism.

Mary Slade   {K:40918} 2/24/2007
Amazing to see such detail in shapes and colours. The scales and that eye!

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 2/25/2007
Thanks Mary

Franz Thoma   {K:3229} 4/14/2007

Franz

Bruce Harper   {K:5305} 4/15/2007
Thanks Franz - and just for you, a picture with its tongue showing :)

Franz Thoma   {K:3229} 4/15/2007
Thank you, Bruce! Especially for the explaining picture. I imagined the python much bigger!
Kind regards
Franz
