Meet my older son. Shot on January 05, less than a month after I bought this lens. Shot handheld, I was seated on the sofa, he was on a chair, natural light only from the room's big window. I remember the aperture - 1.4 and nothing else. I'll have to check which film it was.
I agree in terms. I was really looking for a more dramatic light here. If your monitor isn't too dark, you can see both eyes. Please notice the lighting x background contrast. On the side there's light, the background is dark while on the other side is just the opposite. I believe the way it is it's more strong, powerful, than on a "correct" portrait, with light revealing more of the dark side of his face. Yo le encuentro mucho contraste, un poco más de luz sobre la parte aculta de la cara no estaría mal y mostraría los dos ojos, cuestión que es muy importante en un retrato frontal. Un abrazo!
