About This Red Shouldered Hawk really voiced his displeasure with me stomping around his hunting area...
The Hawks in the by area seem to be in larger numbers then previous years, They are my favorites and I am having lots of fun with them!! see photo below..

Great shot of him with the open beak, Marcus! A little different and adds a lot of interest. Your usual great colour and details as well. That's an amazing shot your friend took, too! Looks like the hunter becoming the hunted.
Dave.

Nice inflight grabl Marcus, he does look mad. You sure are fortunate to be able to get these subjects. Nice to see your work. One small thing on this shot, I would have cloned out the shadows on the right.

Hi Marcus,
Maybe you are getting just a bit too close to these guys! Maybe the next one will get your hat?

Btw, Isn't it funny how meek a sound these hawks make. You would never suspect that it was a big hawk squawking when you hear them up high.
Andre

Robert Chin   {K:20943} 2/10/2007

Well what do you expect this guy should do? He's telling you to leave him alone. Very good timing here. I have to agree, they're becoming my favorites, if only I can take as good an image....
That small photo you have must have been taken by a real pro.

Bikas Das   {K:8613} 2/10/2007
Hi Marcus,

Hi Marcus,

How fortunate you are that there is an abundance of hawks. It is amazing how close you can get. I have not been able to get closer than about 200ft before the hawks up here take off. Glad to see you are back at it again.

Todd

Thanks Bikas, sorry for the late reply, No I have no bird private zoo, as i belive all animals should be free, though it would make it easier to take photos :)
Take Care.

I'm so glad I decided to take a closer look at this one -- so I could see the photo of you and the hawk. The image above (the one I'm critiquing) is wonderful giving a fantastic view of the bird's markings -- along with the open beak. He does look like he's telling you off.

Wonderful image.

Maryanne
