Preciosa perspectiva... buenas luces y formas...
Felicitaciones, es una interesante captura!

Dave Stacey   {K:117552} 2/10/2007
Nicely done night abstract, Andre!
Dave.

Andre Denis   {K:56377} 2/10/2007
I guess that's one way to describe it Robert. There are hundreds of these little flourecent lit boxes that seem to go on and on forever from this perspective.

Thanks Alicia.
This was the largest building in Toronto back in the early 70's.

Thanks Dave,

Fantastic work Andre! I love the diffuse honey color light coming through the windows, these are my favorite of all the skyscrapers downtown. First I didn't see much in them, but then they are actually the sleekest and that black is quite elegant - still, after more than 3 decades. I love the perspective and the pattern of lights you got, it's quite a challenge to photograph them at night, and you got a great image going here. I like the drapery in the corner, too! Very smooth effect, and very smooth transition to darkness! Stunning :) Ina

This image captured from a great angel with very powerful composition and light, I am just sorry that the image luck the sharpness and slightly noisy, baring in mind your very technical photographic skill and talent makes this photograph not your best my friend

Please forgive me for my comment:(((

Hi Ina,
Even in the original slide, the black sky blends with the black of the marble/granite. I've always thought it was interesting the way it made the windows look like they were floating in space.

No problem Ali,
The image was scanned from a slide from 1970. Some quality may have been lost. Don't worry about saying exactly what you think. I don't mind at all. So many people see the same image in so many different ways.
Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Thanks Paolo,
As Ina noticed, I think the way the black building merges with the black sky helps to cause that abstract feeling.

I really like the warm light and angle. And the way it seems to grow into the sky.

Andre Denis   {K:56377} 2/12/2007
Thanks once again Mary,
I appreciate your visit and comments.

Hi Andre, neat shot! The windows sort of set out in space...like floating squares if you will. Warm color tones in this cool perspective.

Andre Denis   {K:56377} 2/14/2007
Thanks Kes,
These two were taken in 1970, when I first started photography. Probably not long after I bought my Nikkormat.

Hi Andre! I like the angle and how the windows gradually fade into the night. Intriguing work!

Andre Denis   {K:56377} 2/27/2007
Thanks for the comment on this one Elisa!
Come back any time.

I like this one the best of the two. Thanks for posting it.

Andre Denis   {K:56377} 3/5/2007
Thanks Jon,
This one has a little bit of 3D depth to it caused by the light in the windows. I can't really choose a favourite myself. They both kind of remind me of "2001" partially because the movie was pretty popular at the time, and they sort of looked a bit like those monoliths.

Nice and unusual and furthermore the picture has a kind of background. I like it.

Andre Denis   {K:56377} 5/4/2007
Thanks for the vistit and the comment Stephane.
I like the way the background blends in with the black on the building too. These bank towers are the Toronto Dominion Bank Building. This is one of the buildings. At the time that I took this image, it was the tallest building in Toronto... Maybe even all of Canada. Since then, many more larger structures and buildings have been built here.
Andre
