Superb Evening shot, and great colors of sky here

Gary Dyck   {K:11843} 2/15/2007
Great cityscape, Ina! I sometimes miss the sight of the CN tower (or whatever it might be called now), but I certainly don't miss the smog and traffic! Cheers, Gary

Joe Brown   {K:20720} 2/15/2007
Excellent shot Ina, very good exposure, the lights in the buildings are exposed just right, nice composition with the low horizon and interesting dark clouds above. And the CN Tower!

All the best,
Joe

Thank you very much Sascha :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/15/2007
Thank you very much Mehul, it was early morning around 6:30 at sunrise, that's how I see it every morning except when it's hazy, smoggy, foggy, snowing, rainy, etc. which happens a lot :)

Paolo Corradini   {K:50066} 2/15/2007

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/15/2007
Thanks Gary! How long is it since you moved out West? It's not too smoggy here except in the summer, but the traffic... is something else :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/15/2007
Thanks Joe, this represents only about 1/25 of my horizon line from the balcony. It's about 15 km away in a straight line, and greatly magnified by the lens, but there are some interesting skies some days :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/15/2007
Thank you very much Ali, have a great day :) Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/15/2007
Thank you very much Leo, this a small section of my view, about 1/25 of the horizon line, magnified - at 15km distance :) Best regards, Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/15/2007
Thanks very much Paolo, I'm very far away from downtown - this is shot at 15km distance, and magnified by the zoom lens - things are not as close in reality :) The rest of the view is a major highway (12 lanes) and lots of 1970's apartment buildings :)

Woah Ina!! Sensational skyline pano, with a wonderfully balanced composition. 7/7 !!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/16/2007
Thanks very much Peta :) I have quite a few sunrises like this from my balcony, depending on the weather, the view stays the same, only the clouds and sky colors change :) Cheers, Ina

Andre Denis   {K:55532} 2/16/2007
This looks very good in the Panoramic view Ina. You have the sizing figured out nicely. I notice a few people don't take advantage of the larger size allowed and keep the image almost the same size in Panorama view.
I like the detail in the window lights of the skyscrapers. It shows up well even from that distance.
Nice job!
Andre

What a fabulous mood, Ina! Very well composed with the skyline and the clouds. You have such a gorgeous view from your balcony! *hugs*

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/17/2007
Hi Elisa and thanks! This is a tiny portion of the view, I think 1/25th of the horizon line. It's taken at 15km away, I wish I could go closer, but it's freezing cold, it's not my kind of weather :) Hugs, Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/17/2007
Thanks very much Andre, I took your advice and posted an even larger size panoramic, even though it's just a wide crop, and not a true stitched panorama. Maybe I'll attempt one, but the rest of the view is not that exciting (Hwy 427) and lots of boring apartment buildings. I also don't get much detail at this distance. It's much better to "zoom with your feet" but I can't see myself doing this while we're having this freezing weather. Have a nice weekend, Ina

Gorilla  K   {K:17526} 2/17/2007
wow...great skyline...a wonderful townscape with the most intensive impressive sky!!!
well taken, ina!

lg,
winfried

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/17/2007
Thanks again Winfried :) I keep a tripod handy now for these balcony shots :)

Srna Stankovic   {K:102973} 2/17/2007

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/17/2007
Thank you very much Srna, and have a great weekend! Ina

Eb Mueller   {K:22087} 2/17/2007
You are getting good detail from your combo, Ina! The coal black sky is great drama and imparts a sense of scale making the city somewhat less significant. I like the timing with the lights still visible.
Eb

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 2/18/2007
Thank you very much, Eb, there are some interesting clouds sometimes, but I have to catch them before the sun is up, or in the late afternoon because I'm looking to the S-E :) Best regards, Ina
