Excellent idea for the project Simone!! The composition is nice. Perhaps I would avoid to use the DOF for the first photo because it attracts the eye in the transition between the two captures..
Anyway this is a great idea and well realized. This is a first time that I see pasta like that :).

In my opinion food works better in color, unless you want to emphasize a texture.
I see no texture here, and I think the lighting is poor.
