An excellent composition !!!
Chris: Could you explain me(by e-mail if you wish and you don?t mind) a little bit better the way you transform the digital photos to IR ? You use to do it in B&W too ? Thanks in advance Aguinaldo

Hi Aguinaldo,
the main trick is to shoot in color (even, if you want IR in B&W) and use custom white balance. Also important is to use a manual levels adjustment for each color channel separately in Photoshop. But if you want to shoot IR color images (without later B&W conversion), the filter choice is very important too ... the Hoya R72 is the best for IR in color.
For tips in general about digital IR shooting, visit Jeremy McCreary's site: http://www.cliffshade.com/dpfwiw/ir.htm
Mail me, if you have further questions ... g1-fan@arcor.de ... btw ... congratulations for the D100, a good IR cam :-)

Wow - interesting effect! I wouldn't have thought to shoot IR in candlelight! The velvet looks more like silk, and the way the wine came out is amazing. Good job!

Hi Chris,
This image is sooo different! I'm going to have to get an IR filter for sure! (hope I can find on for the Canon G2) I love the way they come out! This image almost has an 'eerie' feel to it! Hard to believe that's black velvet, amazing! Lori :)
ps...the bird you commented on is a Blue Headed Pionus! A really neat bird! :)

Hi Lori,
you can use the same filter on the G2 too and get similar results, but the shutter times will become longer and the G2 tends to produce a soft center spot in IR, which is brighter than the edges ... but this could be corrected in Photoshop. Search the Canon forum at www.dpreview.com to find further info about this ... search for "G2" and "R72" and/or "IR".
Greetings from Germany
Chris
