Cale Ayacucho jest bardzo fotogeniczne jak wiekszosc czesci andyjskiej Peru.
region Ayacucho byl kiedys centrum operacji partyzantki marksistowskiej Swietlistego Szlaku, wymordowali tam ok 40-tys. chlopow i mieszkancow okolicy.
