What an awsome shade of purple. The repeated patterns of the same flower is stunning. How very delicate and fragile these flowers look. The lighting is super!!!! EXCELLENT

Joggie, I do not regret the purchase of this lens. It has wonderful smooth bokeh characteristics and the VR feature is a great aid even at macro range. It is a G series lens and your macro converter will not work with it. However, I am using Nikon's TC-1.7 teleconverter to get almost 2:1 or 3:1 with the crop factor and with very good results. The TC-2.0 is not as good with this lens but still workable for a bit more magnification. I do not have the 105mm D series, so can not compare.

Thanks for your appreciative comments, Ibrahim! The VR 105mm. is an excellent lens! I believe Nikon was awarded the 2006 "Lens of the Year" for that one.
