About These white cliffs, not of Dover, but Møn, are getting more fragile due to the global heating. People have been killed from big chunks of the cliffs falling down in the ocean. Therefore it´s also at one´s own risk walking there. I wanted so much to go out further because I spotted something interesting down below, but I thought about my daughter and didn´t do it!

this photo is interesting due to the fact that it is visually disorienting. the green hue is awesome too

Absolutely beautiful, Annemette! I must visit Denmark one day... one of the world's more unspoilt places, by the looks of things. Your saying you didn't venture out further reminded me of my Australian friend Jo who is a great photographer. She told me years ago about a time she was standing by the edge of a cliff and saw a photo opportunity... she realised that to get the exact angle she needed she had to be over the edge of the cliff. So she drove home, returned with some rope, tied one end to a tree and wrapped the other around herself before dangling upside down off the cliff and taking the photo. Now that's what I call dedication. Crazy gals, those Melbourne chicks...

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/12/2007
Thank you, Patrick:-) Unfortunately Denmark is not unspoiled at all, but there are some places left that are a bit wild and beautiful.
I understand your friend Jo completely*LOL* I might have done the exact same thing, but this is not solid rock, but chalk that is in danger of falling down to the sea. A very long way down which is impossible to see in the photo though. I saw huge cracks in the cliffs which means that they´ll probably go down although big old trees are growing on the top of them. Such a pity really.

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/12/2007
Thanks Tim:-) It was very foggy that day with low visibility.
It was so difficult taking a photo from above that also showed how far down the sea really is. Nothing down there to make one feel the distance.
Best wishes
Annemette

Nice composition :) It strange for me to see Denmark whit beaches:)

Michele Carlsen   {K:127677} 3/12/2007
Hi Annemette,

How interesting this image is especially after reading your 'about' ... Sheesh the cliff is made out of chalk ehye? And with those big old trees growing on them and cracks in the ground... I am glad you didn't go any further than you did...
When first viewing this image I had thought the ocean was 'chalky' since the water is not clear but I imagine it also must have the chalky sand/landscape blended into it?
A lovely image Annemette... not obviously such a danger... The natural framing is great , composition is wonderful, light is perfect, and the color of the sea is gorgeous !!!!!!
Yet in the total mood has a sort of 'dreamy' or sur-real' effect ... I Love this !!
Thanks for sharing my friend !! 7/7

Take Care,
Michele~

Oh but Jorge! Denmark is a nation full of small islands everywhere and beaches:-) A real sailornation. I love going to the beach every summer and swim, enjoy the sun, maybe have a small barbecue on the beach. The sun sets very late making it absolutely magical to swim at night. The water doesn´t get as warm as in your region of Europe, and we never know if we´ll have a fairly good summer or rain all the time, but beaches are all around us:-) That was your geographylesson for today haha
Hugs from the viking of beaches

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/12/2007
Thank you for your long comment, Michele. Yes, the sea is very much like a swimmingpool due to the white chalk fallen down on the seafloor. Usually the water in Denmark is darkgreen and the visibility very low which means that divers from Scandinavia can dive most places in the world being experienced in this way.
Yes, I was also happy that I didn´t climb out too far as it was dangerous already where I stood due to the big cracks. Usually Denmark is a very safe place to move about, but right now not so safe by the cliffs.
Take care

jorge carvalho   {K:4474} 3/12/2007
heheh yes, yes, theorically i know that, its just that my brain associates the beaches to the summer and heat :) But for sure the cold coast must have their enchantments also, maybe even more ! I have to come back to Denmark one day whit my Tanya :)

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/12/2007
Thank you, Mehul. Yes a very unique place. I´m sure that India has many more unique places to offer though than my small nation:-)

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/12/2007

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/12/2007
I enjoy working with the DSRL so much, Jorge!!! Absolutely wonderful giving so many more opportunities to be creative with better optics, longer lens, manual settings, seing the photo exactly(well almost)how it looks like when shooting - last night I was down at the beach before sunset with my camera taking photos while getting to know the camera better because I found out by playing that the photos I wanted to take don´t work out well in broad daylight. This night I plan on shooting the stars. Busy busy:-)

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/12/2007
Thank you for your enthusiasm, Biljana:-)

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/12/2007
Thank you, Imam and yes I will take care. No need to risk one´s life for a photo.
Best wishes
Annemette

joey s_nburg   {K:1661} 3/13/2007
Incredibly beautiful photo Annamette! You really have to look at it very closely to tell whether you are looking up at the sky or down into the ocean.
Joey

jorge carvalho   {K:4474} 3/13/2007
eheheh busy busy girl ! The slr are great to take photos at low light, they have some features , like the ISO and time of exposure, that assures you to take sharp and out of noise images, even in dark places. This is the greatest handicaps of the compact camera, and mine in particular :) God knows when i can afford to buy a camera now :)
But i have tripod already ! ehhehe
Keep shooting :) Kisses

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/13/2007
THank you, Joey. I see what you mean and this is unusual in Denmark. Such blue water belongs to the Carribbean or similar places*LOL*
Take care

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/13/2007
No, buying a house is expensive, I know, and there are so many things that are fun to improve, furniture to buy for the empty rooms:-)
I think you do well with your compact, Jorge:-) I was also happy about mine and don´t intend to get rid of it. It´s just nice having new creative possibilities with the new DSRL.
Oh you have a tripod? Great...unless you´re just making dirty latinojokes;-))
Hugs

jorge carvalho   {K:4474} 3/13/2007
Oh noooo Annemette !! How could you think that i would make such dirty joke ?!?! I am offended now ehheheheheheheh No, i really have a metallic tripod heheheheh Dont make joke about that too! ehhehehe

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 3/14/2007
hahaha well, how could I think that you WOULDN`T make such a dirty joke?! Sorryyyyy it was your info about a tripod followed by the "hehehe" that made me think this way*LOL* But I mean you men are fortunate having a built-in tripod! Easy to carry around, but maybe somewhat unstable..*LOL* Now my cheeks hurt from laughing

birol emekdas   {K:120} 3/14/2007
Excellent POV.
