I like this kind of photographs. This is a beautiful one with the dark branches in the blue sky. Some clouds in the sky should make it still better. :)

Many thanks for the nice comment, Ferdinand!

I think that with clouds it would be very different according to the kind of the clouds. For example with darker clouds that have strong shining contourrs it would much much more dramatic. I would like to see that with many different kinds of clouds and I know that in PS it is possible to add artificial clouds, but I can't find how to do that. Any ideas anybody?

Best wishes,

Nick

Indeed it is posible. You have to make a photo of the sky with all kinds of different clouds. Then you can use such a photo as background. That is not so difficult when the photo where you want to put the clouds behind is easy to select. In your "Hydra" with all that branches it will not be so easy. You could try to select with "Colour" and so select the blue, than turn on the selection, copy this selection into the clouds.( I did so with my"Good morning sunshine)
Good luck!

Many thanks for the info, Ferdinand! THough I am not a big freind of such montage techniques, I'll try to use some of my sky & clouds photos as a background. But I think too that selecting the right portion of the image might take an eternity.

Or perhaps working with layers and setting the blues of the sky as the transparent colors? I have to see if this is possible since I don't know if we can set a whole range of colors to transparency.

In your image "Good morning sunshine" your method worked perfectly.

Best wishes,

Nick
