Thanks Stan, I posted the same image a few minutes before this one. Can you let me know if you see any quality improvement between the two? Sharpness, Brightness etc. Andre

Thanks Stan, I believe this to be the better of the two also. I've taken the first one down. This one is a bit brighter and there seemed to be some sort of compression problem with the first one. Thanks again. Andre

Excellent capture of these two geese, Andre! Very nice exposure for the snow and details of the birds and bush. I guess they're looking for potential nesting sites? Dave.

Thanks Dave, They actually seem to enjoy walking in this snow. There were about 8 pairs of them in the area. They just all got up and started wandering off. No hurry, no panic. Andre

Hi Andre,
The "(test)" should've been enough of a give away for me to understand which image you meant....:) Heh...
The thing I notice most dominantly, is the crispness of the photo, and the slightly bluer tone, compared to your usually more reddish and gloomier style. Even the whites seem to have a slightly bluer cast, but that might be an optical illusion. Either way, it's just a notch, and nothing severe; Personally, I'd be happy with it, as is - the slightly cooler tones do not affect the image negatively, IMO. The image quality looks fine, though.
Canadian geese - that's what we call them on this side of the globe....:)
Cheers,
Hugo

Thanks for the input Hugo. Yes, I believe the snow was even a little more blueish right out of the camera. I did a little cyan or blue de-sat to turn it a little more on the grey side. You are right, some blue tinge remains.
I will most likely not abandon any original style (especially when playing with digitally manipulated, fantasy type images) I just wanted my first few posts with my new set-up to be natural, nature/wildlife images. That way I could find a formula for duplicating what I actually see through the viewfinder rather than making something up. The only thing that I changes on this one and the two Turkey images was a little desaturation.
Thanks for the input.
They are called Canadian Geese here too :)
Andre
