About So, I drove to Deleware from KS for a wedding, then worked for a week just outside of DC. Of course I had to stop by a national park...

I arrived at 7 PM, the sun over the horizon. No filters here except for UV, and long 20 second exposures. Taken at viewpoint #1 with a tripod. HDR applied using three bracketed shots.

you got nice lighting on water here
well done!

by the way, this kind of photos is a mystery to me .. maybe because I hate usung a tripod :)

by the way 2, what a pity that the sky is so clear but if cloudy you would not have this lighting

nMK

I agree - but in the case of my photography I get what I get and make the best of it. I would have liked some minor cloud cover (which I got on the second day) but at the same time I would not have gotten the nice glow on the rocks.

yes, exactly, with clouds the lighting wouldn't be the same

wow even in the colorless winter you managed to come up with a good action shot.....although maybe the guy up stream just drained his washing machine and the suds were flying...lol

Tim:

Jump on in, you'd lose your shirt by the third boulder.

Actually, there was a lot of red and yellow to the sunset - in DC the weather had turned and it was Spring. Funny, but when I got back today to work the grass is green everywhere. I think spring has landed here...

Petabyte:

Ha, no I had not, even though Rob is one of my associates. It makes sense, it is so close to DC that a trip there for a photographer is probably inevitable.

I have to say that I think I like his shooting position better - but I think he also worked a lot harder to get his shot!

Lots of luck involved in getting the pretty lighting also. Hey, I've always wondered what the point of associates is?
