This is a darling shot and nicely framed. I just took a look at your pet portraits in general, and the quality of composition and cropping is consistently good. As is the case with this one, it appears that you are using a flash (in-camera?) which is causing some ill-effects: highlights are pushed to be over-exposed, catchlights in the eyes are pin-holes or the pupils are the wrong color, irises show no color, and tonal range is narrower. Your Nikon D70 has the capability to do very well at higher ISO's. Animals tend to move and you do want to stop that action. So set your shutter speed to a manual of 125-250 (or higher) as dictated by the motion, and push your ISO up to between 400 and 800, depending on the available light. Then turn off that flash. You will get much better results, especially with those big beautiful eyes, which are the focal point of your image. Antonia
