I understand. Have you tried increasing the compression on the larger jpg to reduce file size. Increase it until you start to see degradation of the image. You can often reduce the file size a lot by doing this.

Sam... I like the cropping a lot including the bird and the inverted reflection of the other.
Just one thing, I think you should post your photos in a larger size next time.
