Hi Per,
The angle you've chosen positioning the tree in the right corner, tracing a diagonal with it, gives the exact sense of the power and high of this giant.
The light was also very well managed. One can see some blue sky and some very bright light that enhances the leaves.
Good texture but, most of all, an outstanding composition.

Good perspective and camera angle, which makes this shot interesting. I wish there were some other element in the photo, a different color perhaps, to add drama to the photo. Like you, I appreciate comments that say more than one or two words that merely stroke the ego.
