About For all my friends here at UF . . . past and present . . . particularly those who have tolerated my humor!! A special shout out to Hugo and AJ . . . who trash . . . I mean critically analysize my work frequently and have allowed so much ability for me to improve . . . My incredibly talented grasshoppers, Jessie and Michele, my colleagues, Robin, Rina, Marcus and Gayle . . . all of whom I have to admit have made this so much fun on a regular basis for me. Far too many to name all of you - but I have enjoyed knowing each of you and interacting on this site. We Chastains remember the true meaning of Easter to Christians, and enjoy the traditional past-times which we grew up enjoying . . . the best of everything - :)

And a Happy Easter to the Chastains! The fun travels both ways my friend, as does the trash...I mean the critical analysis of others work. 'Course we will not mention any names...how IS that couch by the way?

Hope you all enjoyed the day!

Take care...Robin

ps...M&M's? jelly beans? cold hard cash?...what's in the egg?

Dave Stacey   {K:115404} 4/9/2007
And a Happy Easter to you too, Doyle!
Dave.

AJ Miller   {K:44268} 4/9/2007
Well, I am truly flattered to see my name standing out in your "about" like a blue egg in a succulent...

A fun and unusual image.

With best wishes for Easter to you and your family,
AJ

Ahhhh Robin . . . Curiosity killed the cat! After over 60 eggs (with all kind of different treats) . . . I can honestly tell you I have no idea what's in this egg.

I CAN tell you that it's apparently a bad idea to capture bees in the egg before hiding it - or so it was made clear to me. (I was saying something like . . . Hmmmmm . . . honey bees! I'm sure I could have gotten four or five in the egg . . . 'till I saw Marny with the hand on the hip 'what do you think you're doing' look of disapproval). I still think a few of those would have put a whole new twist on the egg hunt thing! :)

PS Robin:

It was a LOVESEAT. She couldn't eat a whole couch.

Hmmmmm . . . flattered, eh? LoL! Only a photographer can imagine a way 'SUC-cu-lent', 'egg' and 'blue' can be combined in a flattering way!!!

Hope your Easter was great!

~~GRIN~~ Doyle... Looks like this was laid by a *oryctolagus cuniculus*... Found all over the world, but known to pick a specific day in the year to place eggs of varying size and colour in very non-specific places... :)))

The pagan festivals of Spring, fertility and rebirth, that in turn brought us the *egg*, and how that ties into Easter is quite interesting... The commercialism is something we cannot escape, however it would be nice to think that besides the $, that a story should also be told to give of it's significance and place, plus how it fits in the Christian calender... :)

Hope you and yours had a happy Easter Doyle...:)))

Onie... ~~GRIN~~

Ohhhhh Mannnnnnn do I feel bad to be sooo late to see this shiney blue egg with this honorable mention :)) I do Doyle--- Thank You for allowing me to be the grasshopper for soooooo long !!! I guess when you've got the best teacher you just know there is always more to learn and never want to loose them :)) I know I don't !!!!
You're the genius and the best teacher ever
and I don't know how I got soooooo lucky ,
OHHHHHHH and The King Of Cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best always to You & Your wonderful Family,
Grasshopper Michele~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 4/12/2007
Thanks Onie . . . fascinating indeed and have no doubt that the story is important here even more than the commercialism which, you rightfully point out, seems inescapable. I have even studied the old Pagan rites you mention in a survey of World Religions. Somehow History seems more and more cool the older we get, huh? Uhhhhhh . . . I mean . . . uhhhhh . . . that's what the 'older' people tell me anyway! LoL!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 4/12/2007
LoL! Oh Michele . . . I haven't had so much butter on me for quite some time!!! HAHAHAhahahaaa . . . No worries . . . and thanks as always! :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Michele Carlsen   {K:128850} 4/12/2007
I am SERIOUS Doyle... I didn't say anything I didn't seriously mean....

Michele Carlsen   {K:128850} 4/12/2007
Plus--- sometimes the image isn't as nice as the WORDS- but the words are equally important to me .

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 4/12/2007
Thanks Michele . . . your words are worth a thousand pictures!! :)

Honestly though, Thank you very much.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Alison DuFlon   {K:35793} 4/13/2007
This is great, i love the color of that egg against all of the earthy tones and the wayyou have captured the reflection. I also like the way the three stems?, lead our eye down to the egg. Alison

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 4/13/2007
Thanks Alison . . . I had eyed those leading lines when I set up this shot. The far left is a wrought iron hook which holds a hanging plant (the other two lines go down to the pot). The twisty plant stem squiggling up to the top left corner is pure plant though! :)

Doyle I <~~~~~

Marian

Sheila Carson   {K:5830} 4/14/2007
And a Happy (belated) Easter to you too! :)

Howard M. Parsons   {K:3496} 4/17/2007
Very nice idea and well executed. In this case, the bright contrast of the egg vs. everything else grabbed my attention and made me focus on the meaning and purpose.

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 4/17/2007
Thanks Marian!! :) - GLAD yours was great too!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 4/17/2007
Thanks Sheila!! Hmmmmm . . . belated, huh? Better Idea . . . let's call it early and you were FIRST for next years's Easter wishes, eh? So happy Easter 2oo8 to YOU! (Now I'm CERTAINLY the first too!) .....:P

Doyle I <~~~~~
