It's a very beautiful effect Paul. You might like to try cloning out the top vapour trail as it does break into the image somewhat, apart from that minor thing it's simply gorgeous!

Its good to see someone from close to home on here, I'm from just down the road at Nelson. :)

Excellent shot Paul, great silhouettes and reflections, great sunset, excellent composition. I agree with Meg's comment regarding the vapour trail.
Best regards,
Joe

The color really pops this shot. Nice work indeed.

Thanks Meg - perhaps you can tell me where is scenic up your way - I've dome all Preston already!

Paul Iddon   {K:272} 4/13/2007
Much appreciated Rick. Thanks for the visit.

Cheers Joe. I must admit I thought about cloning - but decided against it in the end...

Its colour is what makes it. In the white balance shot taken on Auto - it is wholly less interesting. Thanks Jim.

Thanks you Metoni. I'm pleased you took the time to view.

Sorry its taken so long to reply Paul, I got sidetracked!

There are lots of scenic places round here, the most prominent is Pendle Hill and all the little villages scattered around it on both sides. Barley and Newchurch on my side are both very pretty, on the other side of course there is Downham which has featured in many TV programs. Clitheroe and its castle is another pretty place!
Its also only fifteen miles from here to Skipton and just down the road from there is Bolton Abbey and the famous Strid.
Also close to here is Wycollor with its medieval bridge, further along that road is Howarth, home of the Bronte sisters.

You might like to try looking at these photos on the maps, they will give you an idea of what different areas have to offer.
