Excellent shot Doyle. Great capture showing the fantastic rack. The pose and framing with the rocks is excellent as well as the light and exposure, focus and detail. Very nicely presented with the frame.
Best regards,
Joe

Just surfed on usefilm, and wow! here is your magnificent shot of Capra Ibex. Very well done to you Doyle!

Ian Flindt   {K:610} 4/16/2007
What a fantastic image. Sometimes you open up an image and your jaw drops at the sight of it. The positioning of the Ibex as he stands framed by those impressive cave walls; his posture as he turns and displays his horns in such a perfect way; the B&W treatment that you've applied to the image...all helps to make this an outstanding image. I wondered about the wood at the bottom of the frame, but with or without it, this is exceptional.

Dave Stacey   {K:115404} 4/16/2007
Excellent shot of the ibex, Doyle! It's a great pose, and I like the way the colours are repeated from the animal to the rocks, with the ibex isolated in with the dark background of the cave. Well done!
Dave.

Jan Hoffman   {K:39331} 4/16/2007
Wonderful angle on this one, Doyle. We really get a sense of the size and scale of those horns. (Rack, indeed!).

Ian! Wow . . . very nice of you - thanks very much for the comment! The reality is that the wood was there . . . and . . . uhhhh . . . there was NO way I was going to try to move it! LoL! I also didn't want to clone it. My thought was that the natural position of the angled wood made a great line towards the subject . . . not unlike the lines from the top boulder.

Thanks again!

Thanks Jan. Must have been very hard for you to avoid the double entendres that could have been constructed using terms like rack and horn . . .

I'm proud of you!! ;)

Thanks Sue! Really appreciate the sentiment about the photos . . . and the humor about . . . . uhhhhh . . . you know . . . ( the size thing )! Try saying size doesn't matter when you're trying to bump another male off the cliff just to impress the ladies!! LoL!!

You know I am not a major fan of B&W but this is awesome !!! Mostly it is shades & tones in-between B&W --- I love it!!

Yes, the profile shot really makes this image - not sure if it's better than the color one or not - haven't compared them side by side, or slide, by slide---- but this is really nice. I think there is more texture to view in B&W -- there is definitely more something--- also his cave looks waaaaaay more Cool !!!!!!
Just excellent Doyle -- 7/7

Best Regards,
Michele~

Thanks Liz . . . since this was taken consecutive to the previous posting . . . . I could not resist the B&W conversion and emphasizing that rack! . . . Also . . . some wanted to see the entire cave entrance.

very nice monochromatic conversion, framed with dark background, this time a side view profile showing off his horn to you. I like the white highlights on his neck and his argyle socks...

Very nice work on this one Doyle.
But you know what really makes this one special?
That expressive eye! The way you caught that Ibex's eye seems to give him an almost human like quality. He looks like he just thought of something amusing with that little grin on his face.
Andre

The neck fur and horns do stand out here more promonently than on the other, to a point of distraction perhaps.
